Quick Athlete Update:
JD Dobis @DobisJonathan starting his summer season out strong! Punching out 7 with no hits or runs given up through 3.2 frames of work.
JD has been sitting 88-90 and recently hit a new in game PR of 91.4!
A big part of his recent success is the addition of a cutter at 85-87 that’s been absolutely lethal for him.
With a couple more mechanical tweaks we are currently working on, I fully expect his velo to continue to rise! 🚀

The @GopherBaseball commit was on a pitch count but made the most of each one.
The 2022 @PrepBaseball Future Game alum gave up consecutive hits to the first two batters he faced and then did not allow another the rest of his outing.
+ He rushed his fastball up to 90, cruising 86 to 88. The pitch profiles with some cut action.
+ Spin wins for Dobis. He has a slider at 74-75 and curve at 71-72. Both pitches had over 2,700 RPMs and he used to land strikes & s/m.
+ He threw 71% strikes, attacking the zone with competitive pitches.
Final line:
4 IP // 2 H // 1 ER // 1 BB // 5 K

From sitting 84 T87 in games to sitting 90-91 in pens, an athlete update from Performance Coach @Gabriel_Noyalis 🔥
Another dynamic Northern HS arm, @DobisJonathan, is setting himself up for a BIG spring. 18 months ago he was sitting mid 80s in games. Now he's sitting 90-91 in pens and is ready to rock.
Getting bigger & stronger was, and continues to be, his lowest hanging fruit.
Other key areas we focused on:
•Improving lower leg, hip, spine, and shoulder function
•Getting into a better stacked position during his leg lift & hinge
•Increasing tempo
•Getting his arm up on time while staying closed off with the shoulders
•Selling out for lower half rotation and getting rid of a slight jump — this really helped to clean up pelvic positioning at landing, leading to a better block.
It’s going to be a fun season for JD on the bump🔥

18 months ago JD was topping 86 in pens and 87 in game. Now, he has recently been sitting 90-91 in pens heading into the spring 📈
Exciting off season so far! Lots of jumps in the weight room! In bullpens I have been 89-91. At the plate I have been getting some 100 mph exit velos and the swing has been feeling smooth

Local 2-way stud @DobisJonathan is making his way to Dinkytown 〽️
Dobis was dominant on the mound in 2023 recording a WHIP of 0.959 and a BAA of .153 in 74 IP.
At the plate he was just as good. In 94 AB's he drove in 47 with 18 XBH's and had an average of .329!
