This year marks the 160th anniversary of Thanksgiving becoming a national holiday during the American Civil War.
We should remember the true origins of the holiday, because they're a lot more meaningful than whitewashed mythology about pilgrims.
So, we have an Eli Roth horror film about to come out that’s actually getting good reviews…
Time will tell whether this is a “first time for everything” or a “hell has frozen over” moment 👀
B. Acknowledge that the Avengers actually made things worse in Endgame by letting Thanos’s devastation on the universe still happen and undo their mistakes so that there’s a proper triumphant ending to their story instead of an insultingly bittersweet, cynical one.
A. Actually bring back Iron Man and Black Widow instead of cynically pretending that versions of them from another timeline are the same characters we actually had A DECADE of investment in
…
-it’s not paced well (first act really drags and the ending’s not as powerfully impactful as it should have been)
-it really needed some other main characters who were Osage instead of just Leo’s wife in it (Tbf, I expect that’s more the fault of studio executives than Scorsese)
It was fun.
It really requires you to have some basic knowledge of the games to appreciate it as a decent adaptation.
If you’re gonna see it in theaters, make sure it’s with a sizable audience, because it’s very much a crowd reaction film🐻🍕

I do feel tremendous sympathy for Israelis AND Palestinians!
They’re stuck being treated like “expendable” pawns in a sickening chess match between two fanatical regimes led by vile old men who would rather see the world burn than allow peaceful and EQUITABLE coexistence!
Republican Rep. Jim Jordan fell short in the first round of voting for House speaker, losing 20 GOP votes.

Sooo…apparently the new Exorcist is supposed to be utter trash…
(Yeahhhh, I’m not seeing Universal getting a return on its $400 million investment to get the rights to the series👀)
