But in a country where the social media is full of blatant false claims on health, and modern medicine is often vilified, he was a voice of reason. And a forceful one
Had he engaged better with people, especially with fellow doctors, it would have amplified his voice and he would have gotten much better support on medtwitter.

This guy is Roman Saini.

He first enrolled for a medical course. Occupied one seat, completed his MBBS but didn’t become a doctor.

He then tried for upsc (Civil services). At that time CSAT wasn’t removed so based on his aptitude skills, he also cracked upsc and become an IAS.

But after occupying one seat and finishing his training, which comes at a huge cost, he decided to quit that too.

He then opened a YouTube channel to impart ‘Free’ education. Everyone supported him.

But after success, he changed it into a paid platform. His courses are one of the most expensive in India right now.

That’s the story of his hypocrisy.

So asking students to vote for educated persons is a biased view now ?

This is a discharge summary from an Ayurveda Hospital.

A small boy was admitted for evaluation of fever.

No investigations were done, because as per Ayurveda, diagnosis is based on:

Humor theory - there are various types of fever based on Vata/Pitta/Kapha humoral imbalance such as Vataja fever caused due to increase of vata or air, Pittaja fever, due to increase of pitta or bile etc...

...or location of fever (eg: Rasa dhatugata - fever located in rasa tissue or rakta dhatugata - fever located in blood or Shukra dhatugata - fever located in semen)...

...or fever which manifest internally but not externally (Antarvega fever) and fever which manifest externally and internally (Bahirvega fever) etc...

Now that these foolish descriptions on Ayurvedic Fever diagnosis is out of the way, lets come back to the child.

This child's final diagnosis as per Ayurveda practitioners was Jwara - which is Sanskrit for fever. That was it. And no investigations were done to identify cause of fever.

When real doctors see a patient with fever, they assess the cause of fever - could be infections, inflammatory causes, could even be malignancy (cancers). There are specific guidelines for evaluation of fever in infants, children, adults and elderly, evaluation of fever in outpatient and emergency etc. as per modern medical science...

Systematic, scientific, evidence based and standardized protocols are followed. Medical science does not MISS THE ROOT CAUSE. This is the fact. Ayurveda and other alternative medical practices like the fraud Homeopathy, completely miss everything about the disease, but the practitioners LIE to the public that they are identifying root cause while modern science treats only symptoms! You can be assured that based on this discharge summary the useless pseudoscientific practices such as Ayurveda and Homeopathy are the ones that treat only symptoms and cannot identify the root cause. Remember this! They cant even identify herbs properly when shown roots and that is why most herbal drugs are mislabelled and Ayurveda practitioners themselves do not know what they are prescribing to misled gullible patients.

Now comes the worst part in the below discharge summary. This child could have died without a proper diagnosis for cause of fever. But see the treatments given - ALL OF IT, modern medicines including antibiotics!

And the nonsense does not end there - they even gave the mother medicines! And for her, it was ALL HERBAL!

But the pseudoscience that Ayurveda is, the nonsese has to continue right? So they prescribe the child a syrup - Amrutaarishta - which has, yes, alcohol in it. All "Arishtams" are herbal alcohol-based beverages.

Probably the child got better because modern medicines were prescribed or would have worsened because no real cause was identified and then gotten better with proper medical care at a real hospital. We can only imagine.

But the fact that Ayurveda and such practices are just blind, faith-based, cult-driven, tradition-and-culture appealing, testimonial based, hit-and-trial garbage practices that are a burden on the patient community seeking healthcare is not an imagination, it is as real, as real can be.

And the harassment continues.

Received a new summons (which I missed in my spam!) from the Ethics Committee of Kerala State Modern Medical Council (again!) asking me to come in person and convince them why I criticize Homeopathy for the fraud and quackery it is even after giving them a full 5 page scientific reply on the same.

They want me to travel approx 300km, cancelling my hospital work, leaving patients who travel from far away places stranded, to stand before a Committee who has neither confirmed reasons for my summons nor addressed accusations for which I'm tried for, time and again.

The best part of all this drama is, they have NOT confirmed the ethical violation that I am being accused of, have not clarified any allegations (except for a cry baby letter from a Homeopathy Association) and have not confirmed the code of violation I am being investigated for.

The modern medical ethics committee is taken hostage by the Homeopathy community/council and used as a tool to harrass well meaning, pro-public health science-communicator medical doctors.

Very intimidating that they CCed legal wing also, without telling me legal or ethical violations that I have been accused of!

Looks like I might have to take the RTI route & approach the Honourable Court for the sake of my patients and practice.

There is no drug/medicine/formulation/remedy which can "purify" your blood.

The best way to purify the blood (if required as salvage and lifesaving) is to get set with a dialysis machine.

Over the counter available herbal formulations that mention "blood purification" based on "Doshas" is just Ayurvedic mumbo-jumbo and extreme pseudoscience. It doesn't do what it claims. Never will.

It requires only high school biology knowledge to debunk the nonsense written on this product. Please READ herbal/Homeopathic product labels and watch for absurd descriptions or sentences that make no sense and stay away from such.

This patient consumed these products for fatty liver cirrhosis and varicose veins. He is now listed for a liver transplant due to herbal injury - severe jaundice, low sodium, fluid in abdomen and chest.

-and will most probably die on the wait list as there are no matching donors in the family.

The only thing these products did, was take out the breadwinner from the family equation.

And it is extremely depressing to see what the patient's home goes through, waiting for their head-of-the-family to die miserably.

If he had not consumed these products, he would have had the chance to see his grandchildren.
