I fly all the time and have never had this experience. We were gaining speed for take off when the pilot suddenly aborted. The reason? A coyote on the runway. Oh well. Better safe than ...

COVID-Marriage Tip Day 50 (from a recovering marriage therapist).Last one.
Never stop committing to love each other. On day 1 we discussed commitment. Commitment does not mean you put up with abuse. Commitment does mean "I will chose to love my mate every day." EVERY day!
COVID-Marriage Tip Day 49 (from a recovering marriage therapist).
Accept that you canNOT multitask.
It is neurologically impossible to FOCUS on 2 things at one time. You can’t listen attentively to your mate & scroll thru social media. No, you CAN’T. Focus on your mate.
COVID-Marriage Tip Day48 (from a recovering marriage therapist).
Set/keep a monthly date night.
Yeah, you may be feeling “tired of your mate." I get it. But a monthly date night AWAY from kids to have FUN is a TOP habit of healthy couples. Doesn’t have to cost $$. Schedule it!
COVID-Marriage Tip Day47 (from a recovering marriage therapist).
FORGET “Never go to bed angry"
That’s dumb. Makes you fight tired till the morning person gives up. The correct rule: NEVER go to bed vengeful & w/out committing to working it out the next day. It's Biblical too.
COVID-Marriage Tip Day46 (from a recovering marriage therapist). Praise in Public, get Personal in Private. A marriage is only as good as it is in public. Do NOT take public shots at ur mate NO MATTER how much “I’m just KIDDING” you think it is. Bury that passive/aggressive junk.
COVID-Marriage Tip Day45 (from a recovering marriage therapist). ”Honey, I appreciate you for _____.” We’re slowly coming out. Tell your mate how much you appreciate them for what they did during this time. Couples who regularly demonstrate appreciation for each other... last.
COVID-Marriage Tip Day 44 (from a recovering marriage therapist).
Start calmly.
Research shows that disagreements end how they begin. When you’re upset with your mate, take a breath, start the conversation calmly. If you start with LOUD stuff, it will end with LOUD stuff.
COVID-Marriage Tip Day 43 (from a recovering marriage therapist).
WE more than ME.
I used to say this daily as a marriage therapist … to myself as much anybody. ME is important. But WE is more important. So get off you ME and on your WE. Always look for the WE solution.
COVID-Marriage Tip Day42 (from a recovering marriage therapist)
Forgive them.
U know that thing you’ve been holding onto that they did that's bothering you? Forgive. Move on. Let it go. & don’t tell them. This isn’t about getting a ribbon. It’s a gift U give them & yourself.
COVID-Marriage Tip Day 41(from a recovering marriage therapist).
Respond to your partner’s bids.
Research shows that couples who respond positively toward each other’s bids for attention over 80% of the time have healthy marriages. Those that respond significantly less, well?
COVID-Marriage Tip Day 40 (from a recovering marriage therapist).
Give your mate your BOD!
Go ahead! Give them the Benefit Of the Doubt. When (not if) they say/do something that bothers you, assume the best about their intentions. Not the worse. Give them your BOD - daily!!

COVID-Marriage Tip Day 39 (from a recovering marriage therapist)
Go do something. Leave home - together.
I know. There are different levels of comfort with the craziness. But you need to get out of the house together. You decide what and where. And make it fun. Geesh.
