@paul_jkrause Music and poetry. Which are both aural media. Can't stress enough the centrality of the transition from orality to literacy in the Classical Era, and the role of the now-suppressed middle voice in oral culture.
@dr_duchesne As I've said here before: Interiority comes from the confluence of writing, monotheism, Western rationalism, and crucially, the centrality of the middle voice in Classic Greek and Hebrew.
@DMcP92 Enough with the "stiff upper lip" stuff. That long-past British stoicism was guided by a powerful sense of Anglo morality and justice. The Brits of today are weak, effeminate, and afraid of their own shadows. They aren't stoic. They're cucked losers.
@JohnCleese What you're seeing is men in checkered hats who haven't been inside a women since they dreamt of visiting the Statue of Liberty, which was ultimately to them a nightmare.
@ByronYork And Trump's quip was just a locker room joke. Distasteful, sure. But a joke. Platner has actually tattooed himself with an SS logo. Not a joke.
@JSS2701@DMcP92@japan_nobunaga You're spot on. I would add just one other point: The men are thoroughly cucked. Not every man. But in general, the typical Englishman has taken the proclivity to dress as women to heart and exceeded it to become something like 'zed-males'.
@walterkirn The two most intelligent, high-IQ people I know have no college degree. One makes ADA signs at a sign shop (and can remember EVERYTHING he reads) and the other drives a truck.
I have five essays in this phenomenal @countyhwy anthology—on Vicks VapoRub, red lipstick, and a few more I’ll leave as surprises—alongside the greats in the list below, as well as J.D. Daniels, Tama Janowitz, Gary Fisketjon, and others. You’ll want this book. Trust me.
@ValerieAnne1970 Echoes of the Cochabamba Water War in Bolivia, when the World Bank privatized water resources. The massive protests ended that greedy scheme.
