I’m making a concerted effort to be increasingly inclusive and positive in my interactions with y’all, but don’t get it twisted—I’m not here to accept your superstitious ignorance or your bigoted ideologies. We’re both gonna learn today.
@eminently_me5@QueenMab87 All good, have a good day.
I need to focus on the people I can help, and that’s obviously not people who think that folks in power aren’t the problem.
Muting.
@eminently_me5@QueenMab87 Ok:
•Israel cannot rule over Palestine & cannot be supported in doing so •Reparations must be made on both sides, through economic initiatives
•A two-state solution will mean equal power and representation, which Palestine does not currently have, in gov.
•Secular government
@QueenMab87@eminently_me5 I spoke out quite fervently about the Rwandan genocide, and for the same reasons. I was also deployed to Somalia and witnessed how imperial intervention is asinine and misguided at best. I protested and was reassigned.
@QueenMab87@eminently_me5 Interesting that you keep ignoring the point that Israel has a < legitimate claim, that the entire enterprise was born out of imperialism, and that Palestinians suffer for it. And even when I accept your numbers, which I’ve done, you still can’t speak to the objection.
@QueenMab87@eminently_me5 And you, as well as another, literally accused me of being antisemitic when I criticized Israeli claims and actions, proving my point.
@QueenMab87@eminently_me5 I didn’t realize it needed to be said. I cannot present every aspect of the argument in advance, that doesn’t mean I’m ignoring it. But comparing the funding capacity of Hamas to that of multiple superpowers is dubious.
@QueenMab87@eminently_me5 Been dealing with the gish gallop of “you’re an antisemitic if you don’t support Israel”
Solution:
Palestine cannot be ruled by Israel if they are ever to thrive together cooperatively. End apartheid, stop taking their land, make reparations.
@QueenMab87@magi_jay Oof, I missed a digit—I meant 23%, but let’s go with your number.
I’ll ask again: Even if a population was 1/3rd Jewish, how does that give them legitimacy to their current holdings?
@eminently_me5@QueenMab87 Maybe. The answer certainly isn’t to let 🇮🇱 commit apartheid and enmity at 🇵🇸 and kill them when they fight back, nor is it to legitimize the former (in possession of stolen lands) while demonizing the latter.
