The House of Representatives has passed the FY2027 NDAA (H.R. 8800), which includes the proposal to expand defense cooperation between the United States and Israel — including joint collaboration on military technologies, missile defense, cyber capabilities, data sharing, and research and development.

It now moves to the Senate for a final vote.

In April 2026, Israel introduced an 'orange line' a few hundred metres west of the ceasefire 'yellow line', creating an area to control and restrict humanitarian work. It claimed this would not affect the Palestinians living there.

However, the Israeli military has already begun displacing Palestinians and occupying the area between the two lines. It has also constructed earth berms and placed concrete ‘yellow blocks’ beyond the orange line, further shrinking the area in which Palestinians are concentrated.

This expansion is consistent with Benjamin Netanyahu’s statement on 29 May that he had instructed the Israeli military to increase control over Gaza to 70% of its land.

Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital spokesperson Khalil al-Daqran says 43% of kidney failure patients in Gaza have died since the war began, as Israel-imposed deliberate shortages of medicines and medical supplies cripple dialysis care.

Around half of the equipment needed to operate Gaza’s dialysis units is now out of service, further threatening patients who depend on regular treatment, al-Daqran said.
