Halfway there. Fully committed.
Six months. Dozens of communities. Hundreds of patients who had never seen a specialist β until now.
As we cross the midpoint of 2026, we're pausing to reflect on what God has made possible through every doctor who volunteered their skills,
every partner who showed up, and every donor who made the journey possible.
Eyes opened. Children healed. Hope restored β one mission at a time.
There's still half a year to go, and more ground to cover.
She saw a roadside notice. She showed up. She left able to read for the first time.
Achiro Fatuma from South Division came to our free eye camp at Geita Hospital, and walked out with glasses that changed her world.

ποΈ 1,000+ screened. 75+ cataract surgeries. Hundreds of free glasses.
May 24β29 in Karamoja, Uganda β lives were changed forever at Moroto Regional Referral Hospital alongside @SightSavers, Charity Vision & Amigos Internationals.
This is what .......
One ophthalmologist. Nine districts. Ten years alone.
Dr. Gladys Atto serves all of Karamoja from Moroto Regional Referral Hospital β doing 10+ surgeries a week, managing a cataract backlog, and watching glaucoma patients arrive too late because no one caught it earlier.....
Cadet Joseph came wondering. He left seeing clearly.
Joseph had been struggling, cold environments triggered allergic reactions that left his eyes constantly itching, and his reading had become a serious challenge. He came to our Karamoja Eye Camp not fully sure what to expect.
Because no one should lose their sight, or their ability to read β without a fight.
To every partner, volunteer, and donor who made this camp possible, Joseph's gratitude is yours too. ππΎ
Gift is in Primary 7. For years, reading at night was a struggle. Sitting at the back of class meant missing lessons. So she did what she could, she asked to sit closer.
But no child should have to manage around a problem that can be fixed.
When a doctor came to her church and announced that eye care was available in Karamoja, she showed up. And so did we.
This is why DOMI goes where the need is; into churches, into communities, into the places where children like her are quietly fighting to keep up.
Today, Omar reads clearly. He sees into the distance. He works. He smiles.
"The surgery has gone successfully," he said β and the joy on his face said everything else.
This is why we go. This is why we stay.

"I cannot hide my happiness."
Omar Martin traveled from Amuria district to Moroto Regional Hospital with one prayer, to see again.
Before surgery, he couldn't read small words. He was days away from losing his job. He had almost given up.
Then our team operated on his right eye..
Every eye tells a story.
At the Karamoja Eye Surgical Camp, we are witnessing the joy of restored vision and renewed hope. For many patients, this is more than medical careβit is the chance to see loved ones clearly, return to work, and embrace life with confidence once again..
