🚨India must recognize that #Myanmar military is a threat to regional security.
Refugee flows & Indian nationals trapped in cyber-scam compounds are consequences of a system the junta enables & profits from.
Stand with Myanmar's people—not the junta. ✅

There are loopholes and gaps in sanctions that you can literally drive an oil rig though. Canada must sanction MOGE and impose sanctions preventing Canadian oil services companies working in the gas sector in Burma.

The terrorist junta is targeting resource-rich areas in #Kachin State, with heavy offensives in at least five townships. The military frequently carries out artillery shelling and drone strikes, impacting innocent civilians in the community.

Myanmar's junta is isolated because it lacks legitimacy among the people, not because ASEAN restricts diplomatic access.
If #Thailand leads #Asean towards political normalisation, it risks deepening #Myanmar's conflict rather than helping resolve it.

The problem is not the burden.
The problem is the “IL.”
No matter how hard others try to remove it, illegitimacy remains attached to military rule in Myanmar. #WhatsHappeningInMyanmar#ASEAN#Thailand
5 years of failed #5PC have shown what #ASEAN’s complicity in the junta’s crimes against humanity looks like. #Philippines has a chance & a responsibility to show what a principled alternative looks like.
🚫@ASEAN must stop legitimizing the junta.

More than 20 young and middle-aged men were forcibly arrested and conscripted by Junta forces in and around Dawei Township, Tanintharyi Region, during the first two weeks of May, according to local residents and travelers.
Junta forces reportedly began arresting and recruiting young and middle-aged men at around 1:00 pm on May 14 at checkpoints on 7th Street in Dawei, as well as at the Pauk Taing and Ka Myaw Kin bridge inspection gates. Local sources said more than ten men were detained at the Pauk Taing and Ka Myaw Kin checkpoints.
On the evening of May 13, Junta forces also inspected travelers along Kan Nar Road in Dawei and forcibly recruited some young and middle-aged men. Earlier, on May 9, young men were also arrested and forcibly conscripted in Dawei New Town, on 7th Street, and at Ka Myaw Kin Bridge.
According to local residents, dozens of young and middle-aged men were taken during inspections on May 9 and May 13. At least 20 men were forcibly conscripted during the first two weeks of May.
The inspections intensified after the ward administrator of San Chi Ward in Dawei and two family members were shot on May 9. Since then, Junta soldiers have tightened checks across Dawei during both day and night.
Junta forces have also entered hotels, guesthouses, hostels, and residential neighborhoods to inspect guest registration lists, increasing fear among young people, travelers, and local families.
Residents said the ongoing arrests and forced recruitment have left many young men afraid to travel, stay in guesthouses, or move around the town, as checkpoints and overnight inspections continue to expand across Dawei.
The Burmese military earn tens of millions of dollars a month from gas revenue, money that is spent on jets which bomb schools and hospitals. SED Energy Holdings is using a loophole in EU sanctions to work on a gas project in Burma/Myanmar.

All ties to the military junta must be CUT ✂️. Family members of coup leader, #MAH, are overseeing corrupt crony businesses which seek to only increase the profits of criminals while innocent civilians continue to suffer. Intl comm must not legitimize.

⚠️Engagements with the military junta must end. #ASEAN cannot risk legitimizing the regime's ongoing violence. Any sense of normalization the junta-leaders are seeking must be effectively dismissed amid a lack of adherence to fundamental human rights.
