This evening, Maama and I hosted the Uganda Cranes for dinner at Entebbe after their commendable performance in the tournament. I took the opportunity to share a brief analysis of their game.

As I joined Maama to watch the Cranes playing against Algeria recently in Nakasero after my official duties, I reflected on a principle I often teach in the military: every Force has an Area of Responsibility (AOR). When everyone goes on the offensive and leaves the defense and goalkeeper exposed, the opponent can easily exploit that gap. That was my analysis of the game. However, as we say in Swahili, “Tafadhali,” our team's efforts cannot go unappreciated. The Cranes fought valiantly.

I further propose that all youth leaders undergo a one-week patriotism and leadership training program, so that we can nurture the best representatives for our young generation .

I urge all young people to remain calm and vigilant as we await the guidance of our Chairman.

Maama Janet and I spent the afternoon at my former school, Ntare, in Mbarara, where I passed out 1,372 secondary school teachers from Greater Mbarara and Ntungamo who completed patriotism ideology training.

This initiative, which I launched in 2009, is very critical for the country. It provides our people with clarity on what it takes to build a good life and a prosperous society.

To the young people of Kaliro District, thank you for warmly embracing our Father of the Nation, President @KagutaMuseveni, during last night’s Wake-Up Youth Empowerment Rally.

I was impressed by the progress of youth projects and ventures in Kaliro. However, a few gaps such as corruption continue to hinder the fair distribution of funds across all parishes in the district. With the ongoing assessments, those engaged in corruption will be held accountable.

On behalf of Government, I pledge to ensure fairness and transparency in the support extended to our youth. Every young person deserves to be supported without discrimination.
