That's because most South Asians, are in fact, in the White Race even though they have darker skin. There are lighter-skinned Blacks and there are darker-skinned Whites. Hindus and Arabs are also examples of darker-skinned Whites. They are not the same race as Chinese, Japanese, or Koreans so they are not Asian (Yellow Race). Some South Indians are in the Black Race. Somalis are a mix of Black and Asian. Latinos are a mix of Native American (Red Race) and White. So if we don't want to list Pakistani and Indian as White we will need to come up with some other official designation for them such as South Asian.
