NASA. Silicon Valley. World-class universities. Laboratories. Inventors. Engineers. Entrepreneurs.

And generations of Americans who served, sacrificed and sometimes died defending the freedom that allows wildly different people to live together in the first place.

Then she nailed the part people miss:

American culture became so globally dominant that people confuse its familiarity with its absence.

That is an extraordinarily good observation.

The world wears American culture, watches American culture, listens to American culture, copies American culture, builds businesses modeled after American innovation—and then some smug idiot asks what culture America has.

Meanwhile, someone actually moves here and immediately recognizes what millions of Americans have been conditioned to sneer at.
