This is most likely due to exploitation of a vulnerability in the seed generation process used by the original web wallet.

Why Dogeparty not Counterparty?

Counterparty fixed this years ago: they enforced HTTPS, removed the weak fallback, and required secure randomness. Dogeparty never merged those fixes. So attackers brute‑forced old Dogeparty seeds, found matching addresses & drained tokens + DOGE.

A potential exploit in the original 2014 Dogeparty web wallet has been identified.

All Dogeparty users who created their seed phrase in 2014 are strongly urged to move the contents of their old wallet to a new one.

2021+ users are unaffected.

- get into the habit of leaving your Dogewallet locked
- avoid downloading any type of unverified or unknown software on the machine you use for crypto

Counterparty wallets are also affected, so lock Freewallet, and don't click strange links.
