The BBC released "Television Is Here Again", a pictorial record of pre-war television productions, and also a look to what the future might contain.
This was used as a test film for engineers installing new television receivers, and for retailers to demonstrate new receivers.

Slovenian public television's 1978 news open featured a clever design with pencils and the geographic coordinates of their headquarters. This got the designers interrogated by the Yugoslav Army. It turned out that geographic coordinates were considered classified information!

The BBC high definition television service from #AlexandraPalace officially began at 3pm.
Baird (240-line) & Marconi-EMI (405-line) systems were employed (until Feb 1937), when it became a completely electronic system.
The service closed down on 1st September 1939.
