Negotiating a fight with a fighter two weight classes above you rarely works out. That’s what Tank tried to do with Devin Haney. If Tank would have put more focus on fighting Shakur versus focusing on Devin, I believe a deal would have been made between him and Shakur. Shakur is much closer in weight and probably more likely to agree to the disgraceful “Rehydration clause” that Ryan Garcia agreed to years ago. Tank should have got Al Haymon to call Shakur instead, but it’s obvious why he didn’t.
