Yup. They are crowding out health services, schools, universities, housing, emergency rooms, and welfare programs. Classrooms are packed with non-English speakers. Teachers end up focusing on illegal kids instead of teaching American kids. Rents and home prices keep rising. Our tax money is paying for it. Has anyone filed a FOIA for Omar’s father’s 1995 asylum or refugee application now that he’s deceased? USCIS holds the A-file, which requires his disclosure of military service under the Barre regime. I would imagine HSI has seen the document or they would not have raided? If he omitted his colonelcy, that is fraud. Kern already FOIA’d the naturalization record and got a Certificate of Nonexistence. Omar’s memoir calls her father an “educator,” which contradicts the Sahan Journal obituary describing him as a colonel who commanded a regiment in the Ogaden War. It is no coincidence that a large share of green cards went to people from Muslim-majority countries. Applicants are tracked by country of birth. Under Biden, his administration ended the travel restrictions Trump had put in place on several of those countries. The Biden admin raised refugee ceilings and kept the family and diversity channels open. The numbers reflect Democrat party policy choices. In FY 2023 alone, CIS put the figure at 185,730. The Red-Green alliance did not magically appear overnight—it was built through these kinds of decisions. Trump has since restored and expanded the restrictions, and the monthly flow from those countries has dropped sharply.

If Democrats take either the House or the Senate, they can still do real damage. The travel restrictions are presidential orders. One chamber can refuse to fund them, add conditions that weaken them, and run investigations that slow them down. On refugees, the president sets the yearly number, but Congress controls the money. A Democratic House or Senate can withhold funding for resettlement, push bills for higher numbers, and force fights over the budget. Even without both chambers they can block efforts to lock the restrictions into law and pressure Republicans to cut deals that reopen the channels. Republicans will then be forced into the dirty deals with them that we all hate so much. That is why Republicans cannot sit this out. Swamp the polls. Vote Republicans up and down the ticket.
