@stirling_j Swings and roundabouts in my opinion, it’s always been a cycle. Just like when Benitez and Mourinho came into the Premier League and changed things from a defensive POV it took teams a few years to figure out how to exploit what was given up.
@ReidTheGame Doesn’t matter if the actual throw leads to a first contact win per se. It’s an opportunity to pin a team back and get a lot of bodies in a confined space to create chaos. Even a cleared long throw leads to more shots than a short throw.
@hbrooks_coach You could even make the argument that Van de Ven is pushed into Walker Peters even if you thought that the contact was enough for a foul (which it isn’t)
@gcooney93 "No other elite team does this".... apart from the team who won the other Semi-Final? Bastoni, Dumfries, Darmian all took long throws across the 2 legs...
@Worville If people want to actually develop as analysts and break into the game there does need to be more of an emphasis in the community on looking deeper than how the big 6 in the PL build-up because that’s not a heavily saturated market and has become homogenous.
@Worville Imo the same applies for tactical analysis here too. People get too caught up on having an opinion on every big game and each new managers ‘tactical identity’ that they don’t give time to consistently watch a side to see nuances and changes btwn games to see the why not the what.

@ballsdotie Since the 17th of July you’ve tweeted only 4 stories related to the League of Ireland. A manager being hit by a coin, an own goal scored by the Dudelange goalkeeper, a miss from a game which you mocked and this. Nice to see a focus on covering the LOI in a positive light…. 🙄
