As a Brazilian I can say that ethanol is great, 0 carbon emissions counting the full circle from production to final uses, the sugar cane production absorbs the engine emissions, more power as it burns easier. About production, as we have it since the 70s as fuel, we have developed many different species of sugar cane to different areas of Brazil (Brazil is huge and has all climate in it) and now we have super subjects (sugar cane species) that are more robust, resistant and that produce about 18x more than normal ones, what it means? You need 18x less área to produce the same amount as of now.
