@NetsPressIG Would obviously prefer to just sign Duren & hold onto MPJ for a separate trade or to extend him, but if it came to it, yes you make this deal. Duren at 22 fits the timeline of your team better than MPJ at 28. Plus you can use #21 in a package with other assets to add elsewhere

@NetsProphet Don’t like it. Nothing terribly bad about it, but the Nets can improve more by taking on salary elsewhere. This eats up cap space but doesn’t raise our 2026-27 floor or add capital.

An alternative would be if they wanted Claxton because they are moving Hartenstein in a separate deal, but I think MPJ for J Dub works

@dacwardz @NetsNationCP J-Dub is just a better fit than MPJ longterm. Based purely on age. I’d still be looking to add another veteran too that raises the floor for 2026-27 season, but it’s about building the team for the next 3-5 years

@NetsPressIG No. There is no reason to give up #6 unless you are getting a star/all-star level player. We have enough future draft capital and young players that we don’t need to be turning a high pick into multiple mid picks
