Joshua Donovan

Inspired youth just trying to finish my vegetables, and write the right and righteous words.

#ALM101 I created this last year. Attempted concrete poetry and critique towards our devices and the chronic grip they can have on us. My views have radically changed since, especially in recent weeks, as I've become more receptive to SM and the value in its collaborative nature.

@theserfstv Read the full article - Peterson is in no way defending Tate.

2020 isn't cancelled
2020 isn't the year we refuse to tell our grandchildren about
2020 isn't a hoax

Validation is a hamster wheel. Sometimes you got to stop and ask yourself if it's really worth it. @ Melbourne, Victoria, Australia https://t.co/KU9x98mFQo

A child's dream.
A groundskeepers nightmare.

Somewhere out there, a child wanting to become a groundskeeper sits
forlorn & torn

@zoetscott There's obviously no room for toxic content on a feed, but there's also a very fine line between a feed filled with positivity and a feed that is sheltered from many realities of the world and how to deal properly with them. Some things require more than a positive attitude

@itscharliemckay Yeah usually too many, but i prefer to get the rambling out early and trim the fat later as opposed to the other way around!

[Joshua Donovan @donJR888]

@RachaelAtDeakin Yeah that's pretty spot on. I guess we tend to stay in our own lanes in the outside world as well, just not to the same extent

I feel traditional media is a great way to scope a more rounded discussion e.g talk back radio, but that's also subject to heavy editing nowdays

[Joshua Donovan @donJR888]

2 reasons why social media cannot represent a participatory democracy:

1- we all stick to our lanes/channels, with mutual thoughts and beliefs to avoid conflict.

2 - too many people are not able to admit they don't know enough about a particular subject.

#ALM101

[Joshua Donovan @donJR888]

@RachaelAtDeakin Thanks Rachael! It's a bit of a double edged sword with SM, we all want to connect more but are very particular with who we connect with

[Joshua Donovan @donJR888]

I dont' mind the sound of my own voice, but I don't have to listen to it nearly as much as others #ALM101

[Joshua Donovan @donJR888]

@EmmaSynan It's also interesting that you don't have to put your real name or any details in for registration ... just your phone number (which can still be traced regardless of the app)

So many apps we use threaten our perceived privacy but we don't really question that.

[International Poetry Circle @IntPoetryCircle]

Hey folks!

Came across a new site today.

It's called 100 Words of Solitude, and it aims to showcase 100 literary responses to the present global isolation we're all experiencing, each in exactly 100 words.

Go check it out!

@aliciamclifton Really enjoyed this piece! I was in a similar position of scepticism towards SM, but has been a saviour in recent months

[Joshua Donovan @donJR888]

@aliciamclifton Thanks, Alicia! I found the balancing act between academic and personal writing quite tricky to maintain. Pretty happy with it overall though :)

[Joshua Donovan @donJR888]

#ALM101 harder than I anticipated, but here's my first blog post! Rip it to shreds :)

@zoe_dorey good stuff :) really like the notion of being authentic without having to provide the full picture

[Joshua Donovan @donJR888]

@LearninByDoing accidentally clicked 'who I am online', I hope this doesn't impact the authenticity of the findings 😅

[Joshua Donovan @donJR888]

@madigraceblog I wanted to be a police officer, went into environmnetal science straight after high school and now studying professional and creative writing 🙄 so many curveballs
