Throwback to when I first published my short story collection Scenes from the Heartland. It was an honor to have four plays based on these stories read at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City this spring. The readings were performed by the Kansas City Actors Theatre.

As Memorial Day draws nearer, I found myself reflecting on everyone past and present who have fought to defend our democratic freedoms, including my father.

Dad's picture was taken in Cambridge, MA, at Harvard's Naval Officer Training School. I was fortunate to be his daughter.

The good/grand news is that four of my plays will be read at the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City by the Kansas City Theatre for Actors on May 3! I am absolutely delighted. The les good news is that a knee injury prevents my flying to see the plays.but go if you can!
