Thanks to editor Jim Gwyn for selecting one poem and four haiku of mine for the current issue of LIPS, founded and edited for many years by Laura Boss. Honored to be in the company of so many wonderful poets.
Throwback to when I first published my short story collection Scenes from the Heartland. It was an honor to have four plays based on these stories read at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City this spring. The readings were performed by the Kansas City Actors Theatre.
Ready for some summer spiritual reading? ☀️

Many thanks to Joan Daidone for this lovely feature in a recent Substack post. Helping people connect to their spirituality—and “return” to themselves, as she beautifully explains it—through writing is one of the greatest honors of teaching.

As Memorial Day draws nearer, I found myself reflecting on everyone past and present who have fought to defend our democratic freedoms, including my father.
Dad's picture was taken in Cambridge, MA, at Harvard's Naval Officer Training School. I was fortunate to be his daughter.
I am humbled by Rabbi Pamela Jay Gottfried’s words on her time writing in our Tiferet spiritual poetry workshops. ✏️
Thank you, Pamela for sharing your experience, and I’m so grateful the work has helped you connect more to your spirituality. ✨️

A beautiful, devastating, and deeply resonant story of a family emigrating from Colombia. 📖
A great example for authors who want to learn how to incorporate difficult topics in meaningful ways. @patricia_engel
The good/grand news is that four of my plays will be read at the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City by the Kansas City Theatre for Actors on May 3! I am absolutely delighted. The les good news is that a knee injury prevents my flying to see the plays.but go if you can!
I hope you enjoy this selection from my poetry collection, “Letting Rain Have Its Say.” 🌦️

I love this idea of the brain being a receiver. It helps explain that feeling I’m sure most writers experience when the perfect idea seems to come out of the sky, tap you on the shoulder, and reveal itself to you. 🖋

There is no one best time to write. Some people are creative at night, inspired by the day. Others, like me, prefer to write in the morning so I’m not distracted. ☀️
Whether it’s day or night, all that matters is that you write consistently. 🖊️
I have exciting news! I’m thrilled to share that my short play, “What’s Unspoken Between Us” will be read at Guild Hall in Manhattan this March. 🎤
I’m very grateful to be amongst such a talented, creative community. More details to follow! 😊
