This is interesting. AS 14.40.150 says that if a regent is rejected by the legislature, the governor shall appoint another person within 3 days. Bethany Marcum was rejected on May 9. @GovDunleavy should have appointed a replacement by May 12.

Waiting until after session to appoint Tuckerman Babcock allows him to serve in the role until next session because it’s a recess appointment, but it violates the law. #akleg

BREAKING: Manuel and Patricia Oliver, the parents of a Parkland school shooting victim Joaquin Oliver, were just kicked out of a Republican led-committee hearing by coward @RepPatFallon merely for voicing their opinions about the lack of gun legislation. This took place during a recess in the hearing.

Manuel was then pinned to the ground by two officers as a concerned Congressman Maxwell Frost came out astounded by what just took place. Listen to her talk about a recent encounter in the Capitol with Rep. Jamie Allard. Wade, a nurse and representative with the Laborers Local 341, was in town meeting with legislators. After Allard's office moved her meeting twice, Wade showed up only to be told by Allard, "I don't meet with laborers!" Allard ended up calling security. Talk about loose! #akleg

Wow. Got to the bottom of it. A nurse from the Laborers 341 had a meeting with Allard that her office moved 3 times. When she showed up Allard looked at her, saw her jacket, and very rudely said, “I don’t meet with laborers” and kicked her out. Very loose! #akleg
