Accountability is paramount after another air strike that has killed civilians, most of them children. Is this incompetence, negligence or worse? Expulsion of Afghan medical students is shocking.

Expelling these students, particularly young women who have fought against extraordinary odds simply to study, is not just an administrative matter. It is a question of humanity, compassion and Pakistan’s own moral responsibility.

For these young women, education is not a luxury; it may be their only remaining pathway to a dignified future. Sending them back to a country where women and girls face severe restrictions on education could destroy years of their lives and extinguish their hopes of becoming doctors.

And where these students are here on Pakistani government scholarships, the case is even more compelling.

Pakistan has always spoken of its bonds with the Afghan people. This is the moment to demonstrate that those words mean something.

Do not punish students for circumstances beyond their control.

Let them study. Let them become doctors. Let them serve their people.

Reverse the decision. Give these students a future.

افغان طلبہ کو سیاست کی بھینٹ چڑھانا شرمناک ہے

کنگ ایڈورڈ میڈیکل یونیورسٹی کے افغان طلبہ کے خلاف حالیہ کارروائی اور داخلے منسوخ کرنا قابلِ مذمت ہے، خصوصاً اُن طلبہ کے لیے جو برسوں کی محنت کے بعد اپنی میڈیکل ڈگری کے آخری مرحلے میں پہنچ چکے ہیں۔

پاکستان اور افغانستان کے درمیان سیاسی یا سفارتی اختلافات اپنی جگہ، مگر طلبہ کا مستقبل سیاست کی بھینٹ نہیں چڑھنا چاہیے۔

ہم مطالبہ کرتے ہیں کہ افغان طلبہ کو اپنی ڈگریاں مکمل کرنے دی جائیں۔ علم، تعلیم اور انسانی وقار کو سیاسی اختلافات سے بالاتر رکھا جائے۔

The decision by the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PM&DC) regarding Afghan students enrolled in medical and dental colleges in Pakistan is deeply disappointing and concerning.

These students came to Pakistan legally, obtained the necessary visas, enrolled in recognised institutions, and some were even studying under official scholarships. They are students who have invested years of their lives, time, and resources in pursuing their education. They should not become victims of political tensions between countries.

Education should remain above politics. We have seen students continue their education across borders even during periods of serious conflict between neighbouring and other countries. Students should not be punished for circumstances beyond their control.

We respectfully appeal to the Government of Pakistan and the relevant authorities to reconsider this decision and allow these Afghan students to complete their medical and dental education in Pakistan.

These young people are future doctors and healthcare professionals. Allowing them to complete their studies.

Please do not let politics destroy the dreams and futures of these students.

The decision to expel Afghan students is shameful and inhumane. Afghan students, especially female students, cannot get an education under the Taliban in Afghanistan. Taliban known for terrorism are invited to deliver talks at NDU but Afghan students are expelled. #Cruel

Today, Aug 15th marks the 5th anniversary fall of the legitimate govt and since then the US allies are left behind. USA didn't stand to it's promise. It is 7 years now that I'm interviewed but no decision yet made on the next step @shawnjvandiver @SenTedCruz @realDonaldTrump
