@eyedesyn@MaxonVFX What’s going on with Maxon’s prices?! Even with this great deal a C4D license is way pricier than a Houdini or Maya Indie… C4D is a super nice software but the price is a bit steep when you have so much other options, will Maxon ever make an Indie version with a decent price..?
@dami__exe Nuke has a free license version for personnal work so you can give it a shot see if you like it enough and move to a commercial license after
@Stuz0r Or you can always get Nuke, do a simple transform masked and it’s done 🤪. But honestly, great stuff, Chromatic abberation more often than not really adds something to stills/videos
@Stuz0r Also the album format isn’t as popular as it used to be. Back then you’d listen to albums, nowadays people listen to singles and playlists which devalues the thing even more sadly…
@Stuz0r Unfortunatly album covers don’t hold the same weight anymore, in a world where everything is readily available and in a culture of always producing and dropping it became a bit meaningless. Used to buy albums cause you didn’t hear the songs but the cover was dope. (1/2)
@motionpunk1 Environment stuff can easily take all of your 24gb of Vram honestly, as soon as you make something of a massive size (think landscape with scatterings and some hero models) it eats at your ram fairly quickly
@eyedesyn Took me a few tries to make it stick. Glad I did because modeling in Blender is light years ahead of C4D! What made me want to keep at it was all the crazy work done I saw on ArtStation, rarely do you see C4D stuff there. Hotkeys/navigation can be pretty tricky at first
@_EricHu That’s also why when a smaller artist gets the feeling he’s been copied or been made the center of a bigger artist’s moodboard, chances are it’s probably the case. The excuse of « an artist of that stature » could not possibly know an artist like that is completly void
@stephyfung Blender been taking over for the last few years (maybe not for motion design) but if you go check out on ArtStation the number of blender projects compared to C4D, it’s night and day, waaaaaay more blender projects
@Sen3Paul@Stuz0r « It had 70000 individual parts »… you really think if it wasn’t optimized you’d be able to render that at all? 🤦♂️ of course it was optimized, lol, it ain’t a 10 sec clip on IG, these scenes are gigantic
@fvckrender Yes, extremely worth it, the modeling tools/system is way ahead as well as a bunch of other things, I’d suggest buying Piotr Krynski environment design course, at 80$ it’s a huge wealth of knowledge well worth over it.
Also if you really want to push it further, learn houdini
