This is a journey of finding who we are, not only the play itself but also the book club. I think the answers we find matter, and so do the questions.

I spent yesterday learning about Futurism and its connection to Italian Fascism....now I wants to watch the new biopic on Mussolini with @JonahDispatch

I had viewed the post WW2 US relationship through the eyes of advisories. Soviet Union, China and Vietnam, but never through the eyes of an "Ally".
De Gaulle was an unknown character to me, I was aware of his name but not much else. https://t.co/fghJcfHwUN
There have been four tests the last five years for Pastors.
1. Covid
2. George Floyd/BLM
3. The 24 election
4. Charlie Kirk demonic murder
These were all pass or fail tests.
@megynkelly Really pushing a very stark "us vs them" narrative. Give me the "For my friends everything, for my enemies the law".
(Oscar R. Benavides) vibes. Kinda Carl Schmitty 🤔
The "We" is what I find most interesting here. That Megyn represents a group whose philosophical moral framework she is advocating for, accepts that government officials should be excused from taking bribes.
We have zero tolerance for direct or implicit threats against government officials. I've referred this matter to @SecretService and requested a full threat assessment.
Everyone wants to win, no one wants to listen. Politics is a hyper-partisan team sport and party over country has been surpassed by power over principles. This week, Bret Stephens on nothing less than the changes needed to save American democracy: https://t.co/pg19eJmTa1
I want to thank Nexstar for doing the right thing.
Local broadcasters have an obligation to serve the public interest. While this may be an unprecedented decision, it is important for broadcasters to push back on Disney programming that they determine falls short of community values.
I hope that other broadcasters follow Nexstar’s lead.
When you vote for a candidate you are voting not just for a person but for an entire organization. A vast stricture that is employed below, beneath, above and around them.
So when you vote to elect any Democrat you are putting to work an entire governing system: “criminal justice” advocates who will work relentlessly to keep monsters out of prison, officials charged with publicly safety who will instead zealously dismantle it, immigrant lawyers and activists who will work tirelessly to deluge your city with migrants and “refugees”, educators who will indoctrinate your children to hate themselves and their heritage, bureaucrats who are true-believing marxist radicals running the machinery of government, DEI zealots to enforce their agenda at every agency and every business they can extort, regulators to extract the last drop of productivity out of the economy to enrich leftist NGOs, leftist lawyers and leftist community organizers, and a government staffed at every level by those who lack the skill or vision to build anything but relish the opportunity to unravel everything that makes society beautiful, sacred and whole.
In the last few years we've seen:
- The plot to kidnap Gretchen Whitmer
- The Storming of the Capitol and pipe bombs left at the RNC and DNC
- The break-in to kidnap Nancy Pelosi and the brutal on Paul Pelosi
- Multiple assassination attempts against Trump
- The assassination of Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband and the shooting of on State Senator John Hoffman and his wife
- Luigi Mangione's assassination of Brian Thompson
- The assassination of Charlie Kirk
Political violence is contagious. It is spreading. It is not confined to one side or belief system. It should terrify us all.
The foundation of a free society is the ability to participate in it without fear of violence. Political violence is always an attack against us all. You have to be so blind not to see that.
