Iâve been thinking a lot about the extraordinary outbursts of the President of the United States against female journalists... well, actually against journalists in general and journalism. But it feels like he saves his most childlike behavior and irrational language for female reporters, calling them all kinds of names that kids in kindergarten are given times out for. Itâs stunning to me to witness such behavior from any leader, any CEO, any person of influence or importance. Iâve never witnessed someone like this raging, this weekend with @meetthepress host @kwelkernbc, just last week in the Oval Office with @cnnâs @kaitlancollins, calling women stupid or piggy, telling them to âsmileâ, calling them darling, demeaning their credibility. Every good man should denounce this behavior. Every person should be able to stand up for their colleagues and say âNo more.â
Imagine this man screaming like this at your daughter, your wife, your sister, your mother... would you stand for it? No, you wouldnât! And neither should any of us. Itâs unacceptable and undignified. Period. End of story.
Trump raped E. Jean Carroll, still owes her $86 million, and is now using the power of the federal government to keep targeting and harassing her. Abusers donât stop abusing.
And just like that, itâs completely VANISHED from the media.
A sitting congressman, Ted Lieu, said on the record the Epstein files are being blocked because they show Trump raped and threatened to kill children.
Lets make this viral again đ
So in case anybodyâs counting, today he called not one, but two female reporters âstupid.â
He is going to continue to do this.
Heâs going to start calling them far worse.
Because nobody fucking stops him.
The first time President Obama met with his US Attorneys, he told us, âI appointed you but you donât serve me. You serve the American people. And I expect you to act with independence & integrity.â None of us ever forgot that.
I'm not letting go of this.
Neither should you.
It is by far the most blatant, in your face "fuck you" to Americans that any President ever did since trump said he wouldn't take responsibility.
He should have to resign.
Anyone else would.
"We can fight to stop the ballroom. If this means leaving the area as a destruction site for the rest of Trumpâs presidency, so be it. Let its ugliness exemplify the Trump era. Let its rubble symbolize what he's tried to do to the American republic." https://t.co/yVcOuyDSrT
Not so long ago, Donald Trump posted a picture of a bound & gagged President Biden in the back of a truck. Trump didnât apologize & he didnât take it down. I wrote about it here; the analysis stands up in light of the indictment of Jim Comey today. https://t.co/E9SuSH6haj
He did it politely and diplomatically but King Charles just reminded Congress:
⢠NATO was there for USA after 9/11
⢠British Troops did fight in Afghanistan
⢠Ukraine needs our help now
⢠executive power must be subject to checks & balances
⢠ice-caps are melting
⢠Americaâs natural wonders need protecting
My family and I watched the 60 Minutes interview with Donald Trump and Norah OâDonnell last night, and we were shocked. Seeing a president speak to a woman journalist with that level of contempt â and a clear allergy to facts â is disturbing, though at this point not unexpected given his pattern of behavior.
But that is the problem. Because when that level of disrespect from the highest office in the country repeats itself, it starts to trickle down into our culture and define what power looks like, shaping how boys and plenty of men see women and girls and what they come to accept as normal behavior.
U.S. world-famous author Stephen King:
âTrump is a tumor in Americaâs veins. A tyrant who does not hesitate to set a country on fire for his narcissistic ego. No horror story Iâve written could be as terrifying as this man.â
