Later, Amb. Kamende had the opportunity to tour Suncrest Ochard Farm guided by Amanda, where she met with Dan Odhiambo, one of the Kenyan farm workers deployed at the farm.

Diaspora Affairs Principal Secretary, Ms. @roselinenjogu hosted Ms. Amanda Dooney-@DooneyRanch , owner of Suncrest Orchards Farm in Ontario, Canada.

The meeting was a follow-up to earlier discussions held in February 2025 in Canada concerning seasonal workers participating in the Kenya Mkulima Majuu Programme and Canada’s Seasonal Agricultural Workers Programme (SAWP).

The Mkulima Majuu Programme offers Kenyan youth international employment opportunities, skills development, and knowledge transfer. This experience not only empowers them economically but also enables them to bring valuable expertise back home to boost productivity in Kenya’s agricultural sector.
