You went gently into the Goodnight, even nature has not stopped weeping.
How I wish you raved and burned at the end of the day.
Raged, raged at the dying light. Burned and burned the kindled fire my #friend.
Christian Olusegun Ojo. 29/09/2019 the day a pure soul's light blinked.
Dear God, thank You for this day and for speaking directly to my fear. Your word in Isaiah 43:1-2 says, “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.” God, You didn’t say if I’d face hard times, You said when, but You also promised to be right there through every one of them. I belong to You by creation and by redemption, and that ownership is personal and secure. Help me carry that truth today no matter what waters or fire I have to walk through. You’re greater than any problem I’ll ever face. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. -Psalm 147:3
It’s actually crazy how you grow up thinking home-cooked meals every day are just normal, then get older and realise how much time and effort it took your Mom to make that happen and how lucky you were to have that.
Yep and just like men can be mesmerized by eyes hips and thighs women can be infatuated by his bling bling and the ding ding so you can’t allow get caught up in the physical you gotta get in tune with the metaphysical( internal intangible attributes) 🤓🤓🤓and like that song by Junior “ take your time your girl like momma use to say don’t you rush to get older or married like moms use to say take your time take your time”
I've just received a council tax bill for the house my Son lived in at the time of his death.
I told the council that he'd died in May of last year. They've sent a bill to me 17 months later.
I've suggested they give him a visit.
I found a prayer in Hosea 7:9 this morning that spoke to me…“Strangers have devoured his strength, and he knows it not.” Lord, please don’t let me become so accustomed to surviving that I fail to notice when something is slowly consuming me. Open my eyes to the things I have normalized simply because they have been happening for so long. The conversations that always leave me drained. The relationships where I am constantly pouring and rarely replenished.
The environments that have made me smaller, little by little. The responsibilities I keep calling “fine” because I have learned how to carry them. The version of myself I keep abandoning just to keep everything else together. Lord, let me notice. Let me notice when I am no longer as joyful as I used to be. When I have become unusually tired. When I have started calling numbness “peace.” When I have stopped expecting better because disappointment has become familiar.
When something is eating away at me slowly enough that I can still function, but deeply enough that I am no longer fully alive. I don’t want to discover too late that I have spent years losing pieces of myself and calling it life. Give me the courage to acknowledge what is costing me before it consumes me. Lord, let me not be the last person to notice that I am disappearing. Amen.🙏
