Bear in mind that these are not just the thoughts of some Twitter jackass with 500 followers. This is the real American psyche that operates behind closed doors in powerful rooms we aren't in, where important decisions that affect us are made without our input by people like Paul Graham.

That was how, during our Tinubu FOIA lawsuit against the FBI and State Dept last October - a lawsuit whose outcome had serious implications for the election petition going on at the same time in the Nigerian Supreme Court - the US Attorneys Office was delaying production of documents that should have already been released. We filed a complaint that the delay was potentially impacting the destinies of 210 million people who were about to be led by a drug dealer from Chicago because of US administrative shenanigans.

The USAO lawyer, some guy called Jared Litmann, saw our complaint and fired off an email throwing a tantrum that why did we have to involve the judge and why were we complaining anyway, didn't we know that it was his day off? Because obviously one American dudebro's day off > 210 million Nigerian lives, hopes and dreams.

And then to punish us for complaining, the documents (scheduled for release anytime in October, which had been ready for weeks) weren't sent out until 4.59PM EST on October 31, at which point the Supreme Court had already delivered its verdict.

That's how American racism operates. One white boy sitting in an office in DC will just casually ruin your life with a few keyboard strokes from halfway around the world, and he doesn't think of it as ruining lives because he genuinely sees the importance of your life as 1/70th of his own.
