Here's the uncomfortable truth: the next crash won't be a global domino chain.

I've tracked capital flows for over a decade. We used to obsess over worldwide contagion. That's no longer the real risk.

The new danger is sovereign insolvency and not an old-school default. I'm talking fiscal dominance: inflation, financial repression, and captive buyers forced to hold the paper.

If you're positioning for another 2008, you're preparing for a crisis that doesn't exist anymore.

Because the global banking system has been carved into compartments. Basel III forced foreign banks to ring-fence their capital. A blowup in New York no longer drags down London. Emerging markets trade with each other now. The U.S. consumer is no longer the single engine of global growth.

This time, the U.S. doesn't pull the world down. It goes under by itself.

Here's the logic:

→ The U.S. is trapped in a debt loop. National debt just hit $39.83 trillion up $2.88T in a single year.
→ Interest costs are now one of the biggest line items in the entire budget, heading toward 14% of all federal spending.
→ The government is issuing new debt just to pay interest on old debt. That's a spiral.
→ The poison assets U.S. commercial real estate and Treasuries sit mostly on U.S. balance sheets. The rest of the world is quietly cutting exposure.

That's not a global depression. That's a localized one.

And when U.S. risk gets contained, capital doesn't vanish. It moves into commodities, real assets, and undervalued equities outside the U.S. That's how America stagnates while the rest of the world accelerates.

So here's the one way out of the glass dome: stop putting every egg in one basket. Start pulling capital out of blind, passive U.S. index exposure and make it strategic.

Ignore it if you want. Just don't pretend you weren't warned.

I've called major tops and bottoms for over a decade, and I'll do it again in 2026.
