Doras has taken the decision to no longer post on Twitter/X.

We believe the benefits of being on this platform are now outweighed by the negatives and that our resources will be better used promoting our work in other channels.

Welcoming and supporting people who come to Ireland in search of safety not only fosters more cohesive communities but also allows Ireland to benefit from their skills, labour, and contributions to society.

The recent comments made by Minister for Justice Jim O'Callaghan highlight a broader issue in government policy: the need for more joined-up planning across departments. It seems decisions on housing, migration and service delivery are disconnected from one another.

If the Minister’s concern is social cohesion then supporting effective migrant & refugee integration into communities & the workforce must be at the centre of his policies, instead of measures that violate Ireland’s international human rights obligations & divide communities. 5/6

Solomon, Fatima & Amina speak Somali, Arabic and Kurdish, but play is their shared language.

Toy donations from Limerick communities through Doras have brightened their days and given their mums hope.

Help us bring joy to more children.

Stellar article by Keire Murphy @EsriIreland:

"Migration is social, because humans are social. We tend to migrate to where we know people. We know this from our history: Irish people tend to go where Irish people have gone before."

✍️‼️In just 3 weeks, Irish politicians will review new asylum legislation – a decision that could either strip away key protections for people seeking safety or uphold a fair, humane system grounded in human rights.

You can email your TD now to tell them to keep protect the basic human rights of people seeking safety -

The Government’s plan to take up to 40% of asylum seekers’ income for accommodation is unjust and will push people deeper into poverty.

We need humane & sustainable policies, not stop-gap measures that punish vulnerable people.

Ireland’s new asylum legislation could take away the basic human rights of children, families & people seeking international protection.

But together, we can change course.

Email your TD now and urge them to keep essential safeguards in the law 👉
