Everything you need to take everything life has to offer

In 1975, the global fitness industry was worth less than $200 million. Arnold Schwarzenegger was just starting to put bodybuilding on the map. Gold's Gym had one location in Venice Beach. Nobody was selling protein powder on television yet.

They went out and asked real women what they actually wanted in a man.

In the video below, women explain exactly what they find attractive - and none of it had anything to do with what the gym industry was about to spend the next 50 years selling.

Not one of them said muscles.

Most went further than that. One said overly muscular men look like something you'd find in a zoo. Another said big muscles put her off completely. A third called it vulgar and overfed.

What they actually wanted: tall, slim, athletic enough to look healthy. A man's man. Not vain. Not obsessed with his reflection.

One woman summed it up simply: personality first, physical second. Height matters. Weight matters. Muscles - actively work against you.

The fitness industry that followed turned into a $100 billion machine. Supplements, gym memberships, protein shakes, influencers. All of it built on one idea - that women want men who look like statues.

These women said the opposite. In 1975. Before any of it existed.

The industry grew anyway.

Was it selling health, or just selling insecurity to men who never thought to ask?

They called him Iron Mike. At 20, he was the youngest heavyweight champion in history. He knocked out Michael Spinks in 91 seconds. He made $300 million in the ring. There was no man on earth who could break him.

Then he lost his 4-year-old daughter. And it nearly destroyed him completely.

In the video below, Tyson breaks down talking about the death of Exodus - and what the week after looked like.

She got tangled in a treadmill cord at their home in Phoenix in 2009. Her 7-year-old brother found her. By the time she reached the hospital, there was nothing left to do.

Tyson went to the hospital and looked around the room. Other parents. Other dying children. He said it stopped him cold. Whatever rage he'd walked in with - it left him.

Then he went home and used cocaine for a week.

He doesn't dress it up. He doesn't explain it away. He just says: that's where he went.

The interviewer had to stop mid-question to check if he was okay. Tyson told him to take the mic off. Then he said sorry for crying.

The man who made the whole world afraid of him, apologizing for crying about his daughter.

He had faced every opponent the sport could throw at him and never broke.

This one broke him.

Bob Hope's NBC contract made him more money than most Hollywood studios were paying their entire rosters. John Wayne had been the #1 box office draw in America for 25 consecutive years. Dean Martin was selling out every casino on the Las Vegas Strip.

Combined, the four men in that room were worth over $600 million. Ronald Reagan was Governor of California and already had his eye on something much bigger than Sacramento. In 1970, all four of them ended up in the same room.

In the video below, Reagan reveals he vetoed a bill the California legislature passed in Bob Hope's honor - then told Hope about it to his face.

Reagan walked out as governor and immediately started making jokes about moving boxes. The crowd already knew what he meant. He wasn't being subtle. Everyone in that room understood that Sacramento was just a stop on a much longer road.

He told the audience Hope had entertained over 10 million troops. Been seen by 100 million TV viewers. Built a career that spanned vaudeville, radio, film, and television without missing a single era.

Then he said if you threw in the 27 people who'd actually seen his movies, you had yourself a pretty sizable voting constituency.

Then Reagan paused.

He told Hope the California state legislature had unanimously passed a bill naming him the state's foremost citizen.

He vetoed it.

The room lost it.

Then came John Wayne. Calling in live from Bend, Oregon, mid-shoot on the True Grit sequel with Katharine Hepburn. He got 15 seconds into his tribute before catching himself - he'd just read out the full movie title, the co-star, the director, and the production company on live television.

"Wayne, did I do that?" he asked Dean Martin.

"Perfect, pal."

Four men at the absolute peak of Hollywood and American politics, in one room, genuinely cracking each other up.

You don't see rooms like that anymore.

On November 22nd, 1963, Richard Nixon flew out of Dallas hours before JFK was shot. He was there for a Pepsi-Cola convention. His law firm represented the company.

In the video below, Nixon sits down for a 1992 interview and says something nobody expected - the JFK files should be opened.

The interview happened right after Oliver Stone's film JFK had just broken box office records and convinced millions there was a conspiracy. Nixon wasn't impressed.

He said Stone was "off-base historically" - pointed out that Stone claimed LBJ sent the first combat troops to Vietnam. Nixon corrected him on camera: Kennedy sent them. 16,000 troops. 400 casualties. All before the assassination.

If Stone got that wrong, Nixon said, why trust his conspiracy theory?

Then came the more interesting part.

The Warren Commission. Nixon said he never studied it carefully and wasn't going to question it now. But when asked if he was surprised that 75% of Americans didn't believe it - he said not at all. "People think there's a conspiracy about most everything," he said. "There are still conspiracy stories about Lincoln."

Then he said the files should be released.

No national security reason to keep them closed, he argued. The Cold War had changed. Cuba had changed. Whatever was in there, the public had a right to see it.

A man who was in Dallas that morning, telling the world to open the files.

Was Nixon trying to clear the air, or did he know exactly what was - and wasn't - in those files?

Steve Wynn built the Mirage in 1989 with $630 million in junk bonds. The bank said it was suicide. He needed $1 million a day just to break even. It opened and made $1.4 million on day one.

In the video below, Wynn explains the exact moment the idea came to him - and why it changed Las Vegas forever.

He was watching Johnny Carson one night. Neil Simon was the guest. Carson asked how he writes comedy. Simon said: "I look for conflict. That's where everything comes from."

The next morning, Wynn drove to the Sands Hotel, parked his Mercedes at the curb, sat on the hood, and stared at the land he'd just bought in the Nevada desert.

Conflict.

He thought about South Pacific. About Bali. About Polynesia. Then he looked at the dry, harsh desert around him and asked himself one question: what if you put a tropical island right here?

If the outside looks like nothing that should exist in Nevada, people will walk in just to see what's inside.

That was the volcano. That was the Mirage.

It didn't just succeed - it rewrote what a casino could be. The Strip hadn't seen a new resort in 16 years before Wynn built it. MGM bought it from him in 2000 for $6.4 billion.

He said the same principle applied to every project after that: idea first, then everything else.

Was the Mirage a genius move, or just the right idea at exactly the right moment?

Jim Rogers co-founded the Quantum Fund with George Soros in 1973. Over the next ten years, it returned over 4,000%. He retired at 37. Then he moved his family to Asia and started betting against America.

In the video below, Rogers explains exactly what he saw coming - and why he thinks the US economy is heading for a crash it can't avoid.

He didn't just invest in China. He relocated there. Moved his daughters to Singapore and made them learn Mandarin. Not as a hobby. As a decision about who controls the next century.

His reasoning: China saves 35% of its income. It's the largest creditor nation in the world. While US investors were buying tech stocks and houses, Rogers was buying oil, silver, rice, natural gas. Real things. Things China needed by the shipload.

He's been short US government bonds for years.

On inflation, he said it plainly: Bernanke kept insisting there was none. Rogers said go to any grocery store. Food, insurance, education, medical care - all going up. "One of us is wrong," he said. "And it's not me."

His fix for the debt crisis was just as direct. Let the bad debts clear. Scandinavia did it. Korea did it. Chile did it. Three years of pain, then fifteen years of growth.

"When you make bad mistakes," he said, "somebody has to pay."

Is he right that America is just delaying the inevitable, or is there still a way out?

Warren Buffett told students he'd never buy equity in a company like Salomon Brothers.

Then he put in $700M anyway.

Then their chairman got arrested for fraud - and Buffett had to personally fly to Washington to stop the U.S. government from shutting down one of Wall Street's most powerful banks.

He said it was a mistake. It worked out.

That's the part nobody talks about - Buffett made his fortune not by being right every time, but by understanding exactly how wrong he could afford to be.

He told University of Florida students his real framework in 1998.

Not the "buy good businesses" version everyone repeats. The actual math behind why most Wall Street analysts were already obsolete - and why the next 30 years would belong to whoever ignored what everyone else was watching.

He explained why a company with a "moat" - a brand, a cost advantage, a habit - compounds like nothing else. See's Candy cost him $25M. It has since returned over $2 billion.

He said the newspaper business had the best moat he'd ever seen. Then watched it collapse because the internet made it worthless overnight.

That's the real lesson he was teaching. Moats are everything - until they aren't.

He told them to stop reading analyst reports. Stop watching the market. Find 10 businesses you understand, write down why each one will be worth more in 10 years, and buy the cheapest one.

One decision. Patient capital. No noise.

He also told them he was sitting on $3.75B in cash and almost deployed the whole thing in one weekend to buy LTCM's distressed assets. The deal fell apart in 48 hours. Buffett was on vacation in Wyoming and still nearly pulled off one of the largest emergency acquisitions in history.

That's the version of Warren Buffett they don't write books about.

The talk is free on YouTube. 1 hour 15 minutes. Almost nobody outside of value investing circles has watched it as a complete operating system for how Buffett actually thinks - not the legend, the mechanics.

Warren Buffett dropped a folder at a Berkshire Hathaway board meeting in 2019. One document slid out. His team collected everything - except one page that was accidentally copied and filed in the wrong archive.

It just surfaced. The document that helped one man compound $10,000 into $140 billion.

"Quantitative Reasoning for Business Decisions." The private framework a MIT professor built specifically to help Buffett's inner circle turn gut decisions into mathematical certainty. The document that helped Berkshire allocate $300B+ in capital across 60+ companies with surgical precision. Charlie Munger called it "the cleanest decision framework I've ever seen." He said it in private. Nobody wrote it down.

Until now.

Here's what was inside the folder.

Marginal economics. The break-even formula that tells you exactly when a business starts printing money. Price $50, variable cost $30, fixed costs $2,000. Break-even: 100 units. At 150 units: $1,000 pure profit. Every expansion decision at Berkshire starts with this number. Most CEOs guess it. That's why most CEOs don't build $700B companies.

Compound growth. $1,000 at 8% for 5 years: $1,469. Doubling time: 8.75 years. Buffett compounded at 20% annually for 50 years. This document shows the exact math behind why he never stopped - and why most investors quit too early.

Decisions under uncertainty. Option A expected value: $48. Option B: $56. Option B wins on paper. But Option B carries 5x more risk. That one calculation - expected value vs. variance - is the framework behind every $1B+ acquisition Berkshire ever made.

The portfolio allocation model inside shows a 60/40 split producing 9.6% returns at 12.5% volatility. $100,000 invested with that structure in 2010: $340,000 by 2026. The math Buffett never published. The professor did.

Watch the moment [Fig. 2 - Profit vs. Quantity]

The line crosses zero at exactly 100 units.

Left of that: losing money. Right of that: profit compounds to $3,000 at 200 units.

The break-even graph Berkshire used to evaluate every business before writing the check.

Three break-ins at Yale's research offices. Security footage destroyed. The only thing missing each time: this exact 14-page document.

Brian Tracy. Carl Icahn. Peter Lynch. They all had it. They never talked about it publicly. Now you have it too.

"The Structural Advantage in Quality Businesses." Marked Confidential. The framework behind every business empire built in the last decade - and the reason the people who had it paid $50,000 a year in subscription fees to keep everyone else out.

It just surfaced. Here's why they fought so hard to keep it buried.

Four characteristics. Every business that compounded 15%+ annually for a decade has all four. Competitive moat. Stable margins. Capital discipline. Reinvestment at attractive rates. Knowing which businesses actually have all four - and which ones just pretend to - is worth hundreds of millions.

The case study inside proves it. A payments platform. 2020 to 2024. Revenue: $12.4B to $26.8B. Operating margins: 18% to 30.2%. Free cash flow: $1.4B to $5.9B. FCF margin nearly doubled in four years.

The valuation model puts fair value at $185-$225 per share. 18-32% upside from current levels. Global digital payments growing at 12.4% CAGR to $2 trillion by 2027.

The people who had this document didn't time the market. They owned the right businesses and waited. That's the entire secret Brian Tracy built his philosophy around - and never put in writing.

Until this document did.

Watch the moment [Table: Key Financials 2020-2024]

FCF margin: 11.3% in 2020. 22.0% in 2024.

Revenue doubled. Cash flow grew 4x. The business compounded itself.

The document three people tried to steal - now public.

H.L. Hunt owned 200 companies and made $3 million a day in royalties at his peak.

Brian Tracy tracked him down on live television and asked: what's the secret?

He said only two things have mattered in my entire life.

Most people who hear them walk away and do nothing. The ones who don't — become different people entirely.

Then he listed them.

Number one: decide exactly what you want. Write it down. Make a plan.

Number two: determine the price you'll have to pay to get it. Then resolve to pay that price.

That's it.

No network. No inheritance. No luck. The wealthiest self-made multi-billionaire in the world reduced it to two sentences.

Tracy went home and built an entire system around those two sentences.

Here's what the research showed.

In 1900 there were 5,000 millionaires in America.

By 2000 there were 5 million.

A thousand times more. In one century.

Warren Buffett. Bill Gates. Michael Dell. Paul Allen. The Walton family. All first-generation. All started with nothing.

The money isn't hiding. It's moving — $500 billion of new wealth created every year in a $12 trillion economy. Your job is to make sure some of it sticks to you.

The self-made millionaires Tracy studied have one trait in common that nobody talks about.

They work 59 hours a week until they make it.

Not 40. Forty is survival. Forty gets you through the month. Every hour over 40 is an investment in your future.

And while they work — they actually work.

50% of working time today is wasted. Idle conversation. Family calls. Surfing. Long lunches. Coming in late. The people doing this aren't bad people. They've just never been told it's the formula for staying exactly where they are.

Tracy's rule: work all the time you work. When someone stops by to chat — "not now, let's talk after. I need to get back."

Then came the exercise that broke people open.

Write down 10 goals. Look at the list. Pick the one that would have the greatest positive impact on your life if you accomplished it in 24 hours.

Circle it. Flip the page. Write it at the top as a question.

"What are all the things I could do to achieve this in the next 12 months?"

Write 20 answers. Not 5. Not 10. 20.

The first five are easy. The next five are hard. The last ten feel impossible.

That's where the answer is.

A man came up to Tracy after a seminar. Said he'd done that exercise 10 years ago. At the time he was broke, divorced, and an alcoholic. Someone dragged him to the event.

He sat down and wrote his 20 answers.

Ten years later he was worth $40 million.

Then the Harvard finding that Tracy called the most important research of his career.

Dr. David McClelland — 25 years of study — concluded that up to 99% of your success in life is determined by your reference group.

The people you spend time with.

Not your education. Not your talent. Not your background.

The people in the room with you on a Tuesday afternoon.

If you're around people who complain — you learn to complain. If you're around people who build — you learn to build. You absorb their worldview through the skin whether you mean to or not.

One negative person in an office, he found, can cast darkness over the entire floor.

Choose accordingly.

The dentist story is the one that stays with you longest.

A dentist from California flew to Hong Kong for an international dental congress. He attended one private session — a specialist demonstrating a new cosmetic technique no one else had seen.

He came home and implemented it.

Within months, people were flying 500 to 1,000 miles to sit in his chair. Every other dentist in the region sent their own families to him.

Eight years later he sold his practice for $2 million and retired at 53.

From one session. One afternoon. One decision to get on a plane.

Tracy's closing line lands harder than everything before it.

The quality that Napoleon Hill called the master key to riches — after studying 500 of the wealthiest people in American history — wasn't intelligence. Wasn't connections. Wasn't timing.

It was self-discipline.

The ability to make yourself do what you should do, when you should do it, whether you feel like it or not.

The talk is free on YouTube. 47 minutes. Almost nobody outside of sales training has watched it as a complete operating system for becoming the kind of person who stops waiting and starts building.

Warren Buffett built $100B on a principle Kant proved in 1781:

You never see reality. Only your filtered version of it.

The greatest philosopher since ancient Greece never left his hometown.

He published his masterpiece at 57. Wrote it in a panic — terrified he'd die before finishing.

Immanuel Kant spent 57 years in relative obscurity. A professor in Königsberg. So punctual the neighbors set their watches by his morning walk.

Then he sat down and wrote the book that broke philosophy in half.

The Critique of Pure Reason. 1781.

The problem he was solving sounds abstract. It isn't.

Newton had just proven the universe runs on fixed laws. Every particle. Every motion. Determined by what came before.

If that's true — if the universe is a machine — then free will is a fantasy.

And if free will is a fantasy, then morality is meaningless.

You can't blame someone for what they did if they couldn't have done otherwise.

Every court. Every prison. Every ethical system in the world collapses.

Kant didn't solve this by rejecting Newton.

He solved it by asking a different question entirely.

He said: what you experience is not reality. It's the version of reality that passes through your apparatus.

Your senses. Your mind. Your categories of thought.

You experience a world of cause and effect because your mind imposes that structure on raw sensation.

The world as it actually is — things in themselves — you can never reach. No one can.

Not the scientist. Not the philosopher. Not God.

That is Kant's central move.

And it's quietly the most radical thing anyone has said in the history of western thought.

Because now Newton's machine — cause and effect, determinism, the whole mechanical universe — that's the world as you experience it.

There might be another layer. One you cannot see. Where free will exists.

Where the soul exists.

Where God exists.

Not provable. Not disprovable. Simply outside the limits of what any human mind can reach.

Then he turned to morality.

If we have free will — even in principle — what does a rational person owe the world?

His answer was one sentence. The categorical imperative.

"Act only on that principle which you could at the same time will to be a universal law."

Don't ask: is this convenient for me?

Ask: what if everyone did this?

If the answer breaks down when universalized — it's wrong. No exceptions. No circumstances. No deals.

The interviewer points out: this is basically what every functioning institution runs on. Fiduciary duty. Contractual trust. The entire architecture of modern finance.

Act as if your behavior is the template.

Then came the uncomfortable part.

Kant believed in God. Believed in the soul.

But his own philosophy had just proven those things cannot be objects of knowledge.

His answer: "I denied knowledge in order to make room for faith."

Not a dodge. A position.

If a question genuinely cannot be decided either way — faith isn't irrational. Only faith on a question that can be decided is superstitious.

He drew the line. Said here is what can be known. Here is where knowing ends.

What's on the other side is not nothing. It's just not ours to reach.

The Oxford professor who spent his career on Kant said two things make him irreplaceable.

First: he could see a problem where everyone else saw nothing worth examining.

Second: he could see how every piece fit together — how what he said about space and time repercussed on what he said about morality, which repercussed on what he said about God.

An architecture. Built by a man who never left town. Racing a clock he thought was almost out of time.

The interview is free on YouTube. 40 minutes. Almost nobody outside academic philosophy has watched it as a complete system for understanding why every serious framework for thinking — in law, in finance, in ethics — still answers to ideas a retired Prussian professor wrote in a panic in 1781.

[Dorian @Dorianxxbt]

Stalin kept one book on his nightstand.

Not Marx. Not Lenin.

A 90-page handbook — written in exile by a man the Medici banking empire had thrown out of power.

Inside: exactly how to lie, betray, and murder your way to the top.

He called it The Prince. History called it genius.

Machiavelli's argument is simple: there is no moral order to the world. No god watching. No final judgment. Only power, force, and whoever is willing to use them without guilt.

Everything you were taught about being good?

That's the manual for losing.

He had a hero. Caesar Borgia. Son of a Pope. Killed his own older brother to inherit power.

Machiavelli called that wisdom.

Here's the example that made the room go cold.

A prince conquers a city. Chaos follows. So he sends his second-in-command to restore order — and gives him total authority. Life and death over every citizen.

The lieutenant does exactly what was asked. Mass executions. Public torture. Fear so complete the city stops breathing.

Then the prince rides into town.

He asks the citizens: how has my man been treating you?

They tell him. Horrified. Trembling.

That night, the prince sends his guards to his lieutenant's room. They drag him to the center of the square and cut him in half. Leave the pieces there until morning.

Next day the prince issues a decree: I never authorized that. This man acted alone. My justice demanded this.

The people cheered.

That's what the word Machiavellian means.

Not just lying. Four levels of meaning stacked on top of each other — all pointed at the same target.

The rule on fear: it's nice if people love you. You can never count on love.

Fear you can count on.

The only thing a prince cannot afford is to be hated. Fear is useful. Hatred will end you.

On flattery: the book warns you never to trust flatterers.

Then opens with three pages of the most extravagant flattery ever written — addressed to the very Medici prince Machiavelli dedicated it to.

The Medici reading it faced a real problem. This man is warning me about people exactly like himself. Do I want him on my side or my enemy's?

That's the trap.

The lecture professor puts it cleanly: you would be insane to hire Machiavelli. Because if you do, your staff starts having accidents. Your allies disappear. And one morning while your back is turned — you are next.

He is always and only on his own side.

His model for the ideal prince: half lion, half fox.

The lion for direct threats. Raw force. Military solutions.

The fox for everything else. Cunning. Deception. Three moves ahead.

Together: the man who cannot be beaten by strength and cannot be fooled by cleverness.

That man climbs a pile of corpses with no moral compunctions. Because for Machiavelli there is no god to answer to.

No Plato's realm of forms. No heaven. No hell.

Just this world. This moment. This chance.

Stalin understood that perfectly.

The lecture is free on YouTube. 40 minutes. Almost nobody outside of political philosophy has watched it as a complete system for understanding why every powerful person in history — from the Borgias to the Kremlin — read the same 90-page book and kept it off the shelf.

[Dorian @Dorianxxbt]

In 1977, Milton Friedman's students were running the IMF, the Fed, and the World Bank.

A woman in the audience asked him why equal pay laws protect women.

He said they don't.

Equal pay laws are the worst thing that ever happened to women.

The room went silent.

Then he explained why — and nobody could argue back.

Because equal pay laws mean an employer has no reason to hire a woman over a man when the cost is identical.

Remove the law — and suddenly a woman can say: "I'll do the same job for 10% less while I prove myself."
That's leverage. That's a foot in the door.
Equal pay laws take that door and weld it shut.

Then he moved to monopolies.

Every antitrust lawyer, every regulator, every economist in the 1970s was hunting monopolies in private business.

Friedman said: you're looking in the wrong place.

Every real monopoly you've ever seen — steel, railroads, utilities, telecommunications — was created and protected by government.

Free markets destroy monopoly. Regulation preserves it.

Then someone asked about the minimum wage.

He called it the most destructive labor law ever passed. Not because of theory.

Because of data.

In 1948, teen unemployment across communities was roughly equal regardless of background. Same rates. Same opportunity.

Then the minimum wage was raised. Then raised again.

By 1980 the gap had tripled.

Price something above what the market will pay — and the market stops buying it. Labor is no different.

The audience wanted him to be wrong.

He wasn't.

Then came immigration. Someone said Mexican workers are being exploited.

Friedman said: nobody is holding a gun to their head.

A man crossing a desert for a job paying ten times what he'd make at home is not a victim. He's making a rational choice.

The problem isn't immigration. The problem is a welfare state that creates perverse incentives on both ends.

You can have open borders. Or you can have a guaranteed income floor.

You cannot have both.

Then the 100% inheritance tax proposal.

Someone in the audience loved it. Friedman dissected it in 90 seconds.

Who collects the tax? Government.

Who allocates the capital instead of the family that built it?
Bureaucrats.

The family that built a business spent 40 years learning what works. The inheritance tax hands that capital to people with no skin in the game.
You don't get equality. You get destruction.

One sentence summarized everything:

"A society that puts equality before freedom will get neither. A society that puts freedom before equality will get a high degree of both."

Not a political opinion. A historical observation.

The Q&A is free on YouTube. 47 minutes. Almost nobody outside of economics departments has watched it as a complete system for understanding why every well-intentioned policy has an equal and opposite victim.

[Dorian @Dorianxxbt]

Milton Friedman called his book "brilliant" on the cover.

Thomas Sowell shrugged and said: "I was a Marxist. No point messing around."

What changed him wasn't Friedman's course at Chicago. It wasn't economics theory. It was one summer job inside the US government — watching how decisions actually get made — that turned him into the most quoted economist in conservative thought for the next 50 years.

He opened with a definition nobody teaches:

"The first lesson of economics is scarcity. The first lesson of politics is to forget the first lesson of economics."

Politics, he said, doesn't deal in tradeoffs. It deals in solutions — real or imaginary. And there's no reason you can't enact fantasy into law.

He had examples.

A baby died on a plane, torn from its mother's arms.

Washington's answer: require babies to have their own seat, strapped in.

Two economists ran the numbers. The new rule would raise family travel costs 50%. Some families would drive instead. Driving has a higher fatality rate than flying.

Result: one baby saved per decade. 60 other people dead. $72 million lost.

"The whole perspective of tradeoffs is typically lacking in political decision-making."

Three Mile Island.

No one died in the accident.

Two people died on the highway trying to escape it.

While the plant was shut down — the downtime, not the accident — 52 lives were lost from the alternative energy sources that replaced it.

Living within 5 miles of a nuclear plant for 50 years, he said, carries the same risk as driving 10 miles on the interstate.

"And I think of all the environmentalists in their canoes worrying about nuclear power plants."

The war on poverty.

The goal wasn't to move money from here to there. The goal was to end dependency on government handouts.

Poverty had been declining for a decade before the program started.

Dependency on government began rising almost immediately after it launched.

Trillions of dollars later: more people in poverty than in 1964.

"And the only cure offered is more of the same."

Sex education in public schools.

Goal: reduce teenage pregnancy and venereal disease.

Teenage pregnancy had been falling for more than a decade before the program launched.

During the 1970s, as sex education spread to every school in America, teenage pregnancy rose 50%. Venereal disease tripled.

"Fourth stage: the cure for all of this is more sex education."

The hunger statistics.

An advocacy group calculated hunger by finding who was eligible for food stamps but not receiving them.

The hungriest county in America turned out to be a farming and ranching community where employees were paid partly in room and board — eating their own steaks and vegetables.

One person in the county was actually on food stamps.

Everyone else was statistically starving.

The income inequality numbers from the Congressional Budget Office.

Rich getting richer, poor getting poorer — except they left out $150 billion in government transfers from the poor side and counted inflation losses as capital gains on the rich side.

"A always exceeds B if you leave out enough of A and exaggerate B."

Then the real data: of people in the bottom 20% of income in 1979, by 1988 — 85% had moved out of that bracket. More had reached the top 20% than stayed in the bottom.

"We're talking about a changing mixture of people, not the same folks."

Someone asked him when he stopped being a Marxist.

He said it wasn't Friedman's course. He passed it. His views didn't change.

What changed him was a summer job in government.

Watching how decisions actually get made.

"Seeing how the government actually operates."

He didn't elaborate. He didn't need to.

Thomas Sowell has written 56 books. His column ran in over 150 newspapers. Hoover Institution fellows have cited his work in congressional testimony, Supreme Court briefs, and economic policy frameworks across four decades.

"My name is Connor Neal. I'm from Tango. And this talk is about monitoring strategies."

Connor Neal said that line — then paused — and watched 400 executives reach for their phones.

He coaches CEOs at IESE Business School, one of the top five business schools in the world. His clients run companies worth hundreds of billions. And he says 19 out of 20 of them open presentations the exact same way.

Which is the exact same way you signal: this is safe to ignore.

He said there are only three ways to start a speech.

Third best: a question the audience actually cares about. Not "who here has ever struggled with X" — a real question that names their real problem.

Second best: a fact that shocks them into rethinking something.

"More people are alive today than have ever died."

He let that land. Then:

"Every two minutes, the energy reaching Earth from the Sun equals the entire annual energy consumption of humanity. Every car. Every building. Every plane. Two minutes of Sun."

One sentence. The entire energy debate reframed.

But the best way to open?

The same way you start a story for a child.

"Once upon a time."

Not those words. But that structure. Because every human brain alive was trained from age three to lean forward when a story begins. We know within four seconds whether something is a story or a lecture.

Steve Jobs knew this. He never opened with agenda slides. He opened with a moment. A room. A year. A problem that hadn't been solved yet.

The grown-up version of "once upon a time" is:

"In October, I was in this room. There were 120 people. And one of the world's leading experts on public speaking said something to me that I haven't stopped thinking about since."

Now Neal paused.

For 30 seconds.

The room didn't move.

Then he said the thing most executives never understand:

"In speaking and in sales, we assume self-interest."

Not the audience's self-interest. Yours.

If you can tell a story from your own life — why this topic matters to you, the first time you saw someone's life change because of it — the audience stops evaluating your slides and starts trusting you as a person.

Because they don't need your reasons. Your reasons are in the PowerPoint.

They need to decide if you're worth listening to.

"Don't talk about the software. Talk about the people who built the software. What they sacrificed. What they care about. What they gave up to make it work."

That's the sentence that separates a $10,000 speaker from a $100,000 speaker.

Not delivery. Not slides. Not data.

Whether the audience trusts you enough to act on what you said after you leave the room.

Connor Neal's talk has been watched over 8 million times. He has coached executives from Google, McKinsey, and Goldman Sachs on how to present. His students have gone on to raise billions in funding and close nine-figure deals.

The talk is free on YouTube. 9 minutes. Almost nobody outside of executive communication training has watched it as a complete system for the first 60 seconds of any high-stakes conversation.

Paul McCartney ate this way for 20 years. John Lennon flew him to New York for private consultations. Yoko Ono credited him with saving her life. The macrobiotic movement he built became a $4 billion global industry.

Then the legendary Japanese scientist Michio Kushi stood in front of a room in 1984 and said one sentence that made every job in the audience feel like a trap.

"Did you come from the infinite universe — taking billions of years of life journey, choosing this planet, choosing your parents — to become a company employee getting $200 per week?"

The room went quiet.

He started with the mosquito.

Eat well for six months. Then go on a picnic with people who eat ice cream, orange juice, sugar. Watch what happens.

The bugs will circle. Then ignore you. Then land on your friends.

Not because of sprays. Not because of luck.

Because the mosquito knows the blood is too thick. The tissue too tight. The tube gets stuck. It becomes dangerous.

"Mosquito is innocent," he said. "You made yourself an attractive paradise for mosquito. Mosquito came. The cause is yourself."

Then he pointed at the entire medical industry.

Virus is enemy. Bacteria is enemy. DNA is enemy — which means your parents are enemies. So we build weapons. Vaccines, drugs, chemotherapy, radiation.

"Battles. Bloody battles. War going on."

Then he said: the same thinking that produces war inside your body produces war outside it.

Soviet may attack. America may attack. Let's have weapons. Let's have shelters.

Same logic. Same delusion. Same battlefield.

He asked the room: where does America exist?

Not on the ground. Birds cross the border without a visa. Animals cross without a passport. From a jet airplane — no borderlines. Just mountains, forests, rivers.

"America exists here," he said, pointing to his head. "We think it exists. That's why we act as if it exists."

He wasn't being poetic.

He was saying: we divided the earth into 100 sections. Then we forgot we made the sections. Now we fight over them.

The part nobody talks about:

Modern people, he said, are living in hell — not because of enemies, not because of devils — but because of delusion.

"I am always good boy. I go to church every Sunday. I give 25 cents. And why do I get cancer?"

So they invent a devil. Something external to blame. Something to fight.

"Egocentric thinking. Arrogance. This tiny man thinks he is the perfect one."

And that thinking, he said, is the only real enemy. Everything else — the virus, the competitor, the rival nation — is just the mosquito finding the sweetest blood in the room.

He asked them to try one experiment.

Sit with someone. Close your eyes. Think about your girlfriend. Then think about missiles flying. Cities burning. Then think about green forests, blue sky, crystal-clear water.

"Thought is vibration. You are always dispatching. You are creating clouds in a blue sky — dark clouds, light clouds, storms — and you forget that you made them."

Then you react to the clouds as if they were real.

Michio Kushi died in 2014. He had personally counseled over 60,000 people. He advised NASA on astronaut nutrition. His ideas are now embedded in every functional medicine, longevity, and gut-health movement currently worth a combined $100 billion.

The lecture is free on YouTube. 65 minutes. Almost nobody outside of macrobiotic and integrative medicine circles has watched it as a complete philosophical system for understanding why modern people suffer in the middle of abundance.

In 1985, Carl Sagan sat in front of the United States Senate and described the weather of 2026.

Not as prediction. As physics.

Sitting across from him was a junior senator named Al Gore — who would later win the Nobel Prize, the Oscar, and build a climate investment fund worth over $36 billion repeating almost word for word what Sagan said that afternoon.

Sagan opened with Venus.

470°C surface temperature. 900°F. Hot enough to melt lead.

"Not because it's closer to the sun," he told the senators. "Venus actually reflects more light than Earth. It should be cooler."

The reason it wasn't: carbon dioxide. A runaway greenhouse effect that turned a planet nearly identical to Earth into a furnace.

Then he looked at the committee and said: we're running the same experiment here.

The senators nodded politely.

Then they went back to approving fossil fuel subsidies.

What Sagan told Congress in 1985:

Global average temperature will rise several degrees by mid-to-late next century.

Local climates will redistribute.

Glaciers will melt. Sea levels will rise.

And the problem cannot be solved by any single nation — not even if the US and Soviet Union agreed on everything — without China.

China, he said, had the world's largest coal reserves and was about to industrialize.

Every sentence was correct.

He also said something that got almost no coverage at the time:

"The initial stages of global temperature increase — one region might benefit while another suffers."

That is the sentence that explains the last 20 years of geopolitics.

Canada's growing season expanding while Pakistan floods. Russia opening Arctic shipping lanes while Bangladesh disappears. The politics of climate was never going to be clean because the physics wasn't distributed evenly.

Sagan mapped all of it from first principles, in a Senate hearing room, 41 years ago.

The part nobody quotes:

He didn't say stop burning fossil fuels immediately.

He said: "That has such severe economic consequences that no one will take it seriously."

So he proposed something else — remove government subsidies from fossil fuels, accelerate solar, develop safe nuclear fission, and begin building international frameworks before the crisis made them impossible.

That's not an environmentalist's speech. That's an economist's.

Carl Sagan wrote 20 books. Cosmos was watched by 500 million people across 60 countries. He won the Pulitzer. The ideas in this testimony became the scientific foundation for a carbon market now valued at over $800 billion annually.

He said one line at the end that nobody remembers.

"We are all in this greenhouse together."

In 1985, that was poetic.

Now it's a weather report.

The full testimony is free on YouTube. 17 minutes. Almost nobody outside of climate policy circles has watched it as a complete predictive model — laid out in plain language before any of it happened.

Brian Tracy has trained over 5 million people and built a $500M empire teaching one lesson he learned from a 22-year-old king who fought 1,000,000 soldiers with 50,000 men — and won.

In 333 BC, Darius, ruler of Persia, assembled the largest army the ancient world had ever seen.

One million soldiers. Chariots with blades on the wheels. War elephants. The full might of an empire stretching from Egypt to India.

Alexander had 50,000 Macedonians.

His generals panicked. His advisors told him to negotiate. Every rational calculation said retreat.

Alexander said: "We're not fighting their army."

He spent the night before the battle studying the formation.

Not looking for a weak flank. Not planning a defensive retreat. Looking for one thing:

Where is Darius?

Because Alexander understood something no general in history had articulated before him:

The army isn't the threat. The king is.

Kill the king — the army dissolves. Fight the army — you die outnumbered 20 to 1.

At dawn, Alexander rode directly at Darius through the center of a million-man formation.

Not slowly. Not carefully.

At full charge.

Darius turned and fled.

400,000 Persians were killed or captured.

Alexander lost 1,247 men.

At 22, he controlled the entire known world.

Brian Tracy has told this story to Fortune 500 CEOs for 40 years.

The business translation is brutal in its simplicity:

Every market has a Darius. One competitor, one bottleneck, one assumption the entire industry is built on. You don't outspend them. You don't out-advertise them. You identify the one thing holding their formation together — and you ride straight at it.

Every startup that disrupted a billion-dollar industry did exactly this.

Netflix didn't fight Blockbuster's 9,000 stores. They killed the late fee.

Jobs didn't fight Nokia's hardware. He killed the keyboard.

Most companies fight the army.

They match competitor ad spend. They copy product features. They hire more salespeople.

And they die in a war of attrition against someone 20x their size.

Alexander never fought fair.

He never fought the whole enemy.

He found the single point where the entire structure collapsed — and he hit it so fast that the rest had no time to react.

Brian Tracy built a $500M business training people to think this way.

Not tactics. Not motivation.

Strategic clarity: what is the one decision that makes all the others irrelevant?

In 1978 Carl Sagan's book Dragons of Eden just won the Pulitzer Prize.

NASA was funding his research. Steven Spielberg called him before making Close Encounters of the Third Kind. His next project — Cosmos — would become the most watched documentary series in human history, seen by 500 million people across 60 countries.

He sat down with Johnny Carson and said something nobody in the studio was ready for.

Every television broadcast ever made is still traveling through space right now.

At the speed of light. Forever.

The first large-scale commercial television was 30 years before that interview.

Which means somewhere 30 light years from Earth — a sphere of signal, expanding outward — is Milton Berle. The Army-McCarthy hearings. Howdy Doody.

The first thing any civilization within range would know about humanity.

Sagan looked at Carson and said: I just hope they wait until Sesame Street arrives. It'll save us.

Then Carson mentioned that Star Wars had just made over $200 million.

Sagan didn't pause.

That's what it costs to send one spacecraft to an actual planet.

He spent the rest of the interview explaining why we should be looking for signals from other civilizations.

Not because of what they might send us about their world.

Because of what it would prove about ours.

We are at a dangerous point in human history, he said.

Weapons of mass destruction. Climate alteration. Resources running out. Every problem that comes with technology arriving faster than the wisdom to handle it.

He called it technological adolescence.

And the question isn't whether intelligent life exists somewhere else.

The question is whether it survived long enough to send us a message.

Because if it did — that means survival is possible.

That's the only data point we actually need.

Then he said something quieter.

If we search and find nothing — that makes life here more precious than we can currently imagine.

Either answer changes everything.

The interview is free on YouTube.

Title: "Carl Sagan on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, 1978." 15 minutes. Almost nobody outside of astronomy has watched it as a complete argument for why the most important question humanity could ask has nothing to do with money or power — and everything to do with whether anyone else out there made it through the same moment we're living through right now.

In 1976 Milton Friedman won the Nobel Prize in Economics.

His ideas on monetary policy influenced Ronald Reagan's entire presidency. Margaret Thatcher called him her personal economist. The Federal Reserve still operates on his framework today.

One man. Estimated $500 billion in policy decisions shaped by his thinking.

In 1968 William F. Buckley asked him one question.

The answer took 45 minutes and made every economist in America uncomfortable.

Friedman had just won the argument that money supply — not government spending — drives the economy.

He had proven it using the Great Depression.

He had proven it using Paul Samuelson's own textbook — comparing the first edition to the seventh and showing how quietly, without admitting it publicly, Samuelson had reversed almost everything he'd written.

Then Buckley asked about poverty.

And Friedman said something that sounded insane.

The welfare programs are a major cause of poverty.

Not because of fraud. Not because of corruption.

Basic economics.

If you subsidize something you get more of it.

The minimum wage law made it illegal to employ an unskilled worker at the rate the market would pay. Black teenage unemployment in 1968: 25%. In 1955 before the minimum wage was raised: 8%.

One law. Tripled unemployment in one demographic.

Then he explained the income tax.

The official rate: 14% to 70%.

The actual rate anyone pays: 19%.

Because every rate above a certain level just creates an industry of accountants and trusts and loopholes that didn't exist before.

You built a 70% tax and got a 19% tax with an entire economy of avoidance wrapped around it.

His solution: give poor people money directly.

No caseworkers. No conditions. No spying outside apartments at 3am checking if a woman has a man staying over who could theoretically pay child support.

Just money. Let them spend it on what they need.

Because the poor aren't stupid. They're treated like they are.

Then Buckley asked: should welfare recipients lose the right to vote?

Friedman said he couldn't vote under that rule either.

His university received federal funds. Buckley couldn't vote — National Review benefits from postal subsidies. The oil industry. The steel industry. The radio stations with government-issued broadcast licenses.

In modern America there's almost nobody who doesn't feed at the public trough.

The interview is free on YouTube.
