Given how hard Dorothy fought for her rights in the film world, it’s no surprise that she was an active member of the civil rights movement. She worked closely with the NAACP, and even gave an address alongside Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at a freedom rally in 1963. ✊🏾🖤
