Someone is flying around City Hall tail whipping in a little buggy to Olivia Dean’s ‘Man I Need’. Philadelphia is the best city in the world and you can’t convince me otherwise

Barilla pasta has a Spotify playlist. Each playlist is the exact length of cook time for the varieties of pasta.
Press play, drop the noodles, music stops, al dente noodles.
So listen, for the sake of saying I at least tried, I'll try to have a good-faith conversation about this. I'm counting on you to take the time to read it since it's gonna go well past the 280 character limit.
Real quick, logically why would someone like an airline hire an unqualified pilot? A good portion of folks seem to believe that there's just checkboxes that say "Not White" "Not straight" and if they hit those marks *BOOM* they're in. I can concede that it's a real thing in some jobs. It's been referenced in stuff like The Office (Daryl applied for management and said "It doesn't hurt that I'm black."), George Lopez (an airline manufacturing plant, funny enough, wanted to hire him for management specifically because he was Latino) and, anecdotally, I've worked at a job that did that. But that was tier-level management at a retail job, not a job that deals with thousands of lives daily.
American Airlines isn't going to hire some rando off the street because they check a demographic box. It might help, but the sheer amount of lawsuits they'd open themselves up to after a plane crash investigation seems like a solid deterrent from "Well, we hired Juan because he's Mexican. We had no idea he'd never flown a plane before!" Not to mention, DEI seems like it's become a catchall for minorities of race/orientation. It gets used strictly as a pejorative. So, when a pilot gets called a DEI hire, it ignores the training and flight time required to become a pilot. Same with doctors or anybody that board certification and countless hours of school they have to go through to get there.
To Dominic's initial thing about no whites being in KDot's show and you comparing airlines to entertainment, it seemed to me that Kendrick's performance was about his experience and the experience of black people in America. There are gonna be other things written that will explain it way better than I can but Uncle Sam calling him "too loud, too reckless, too ghetto" seemed like a pretty obvious point, same as the "40 acres and a mule" line. That's all something unique to their experiences, the same way that your life and mine are unique to us. I don't see it as a "Ah, they didn't want whites in here because they don't like them" kind of thing so much as it would have been pandering, something that I'd assume you're against, right?
Here's something on a smaller level to your point of entertainment. I'm half Mexican. My folks divorced when I was 3 months old and my dad married a Mexican woman. My brothers and my sister are full-blooded where I'm not. I was raised by the white side of my family in a pretty nice area vs where my dad's family lived. My brothers and I couldn't be more different, from the way we talk to the way we interact with the world. Our experiences are different. There are just some things I'm just not able to relate to and I'm gonna stand out like a sore thumb doing a mariachi performance or Jarabe Tapatío. Shit, any time I go out there now people still don't believe that we're related. Representation matters, sure, but some things are also culturally unique.
I'm not telling you any of this with the intent of changing your mind. It's Twitter and nobody's winning hearts or minds on here. Besides, it's not something that gets talked through in one or two essay-long posts. But, I figured I'd make an honest effort to at least elaborate, rather than just talking shit and keeping it pushing.

It took several days to count every ballot in 2020, and it’s very likely we won’t know the outcome tonight either. So please keep a few things in mind as you make your voice heard today:
– Thousands of election workers around the country are working hard today. Respect them. Thank them.
– Don’t share things before checking your sources.
– Let the process run its course. It takes time to count every ballot.
