I be wan drop another tweet about this PSG and Arsenal match then I saw that video again of the kidnapped principal pleading while the schoolchildren are still being held by terrorists. My head is messed up.
I have accepted the resignation of the Inspector General of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun, following his letter citing pressing family considerations.
I thank him for his decades of distinguished service to the Nigeria Police Force and our nation. His dedication, professionalism and commitment to strengthening our internal security architecture are deeply appreciated.
In view of the current security challenges and in accordance with extant laws, I have approved the appointment of Assistant Inspector General of Police Tunji Disu as Acting Inspector General of Police with immediate effect.
I am confident that his experience, operational depth and leadership capacity will provide steady direction for the Force at this critical time.
In line with the Police Act 2020, I will convene the Nigeria Police Council shortly to formally consider his appointment as substantive Inspector General of Police before transmitting his name to the Senate for confirmation.
Our administration remains unwavering in its commitment to strengthening national security and ensuring that the Nigeria Police Force is professional, accountable and fully equipped to discharge its constitutional responsibilities.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR
President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear. It will have (the consequence of) what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what (evil) it has earned. Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people.
- Surah Al-Baqarah (2:286)
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un.
I received with sadness but with submission of the will of Allah, the passing of Hajiya Safara’u Umaru Barbari, the beloved mother of His Excellency Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, the Governor of Katsina State.
There's no loss like the loss of a mother, as she is often the pillar of the family and a source of wisdom and guidance.
Hajiya Safara’u Umaru lived a life of devotion, kindness, and service to her family and community. Her legacy of compassion and strong values will continue to inspire those she left behind.
My thoughts and prayers are with Governor Dikko Radda, his family, and the government and people of Katsina State.
I pray that Almighty Allah forgives her sins and grants her Aljannah Firdaus. -AA
