We asked John what he liked the most about his job role:
๐ฌ "I enjoy the satisfaction I get from making a genuine difference!"
Thank you for sharing John - we are really proud of the impact all of our Financial Advocates make in the lives of people with a learning disability!
We are proud that at Dosh, the people we support have their views and wishes considered when decisions are being made.
This is all part of our promise to the people we support, and our belief that they should have personalised support to use their money the way they want.
Have you used our Money Plan game? ๐ต
It is a free resource on our website which has been designed to help you or someone you support manage your money! Itโs in an easy read format and you can print out a copy of your finished budget at the end of the game.
At Dosh, we always want to make a difference to the lives of the people we support.
We want to empower them to make decisions and have independence around money. Our goal always is to improve financial wellbeing and enable people to have choice and control over their money. ๐ค
Today, Jill, one of our Financial advocates is representing Dosh at a Transitions Moving on event in Peterborough with Thera East Anglia!

Itโs important to remember that with the right support, most people with a learning disability can lead independent lives to use their money the way they want.
Dosh is here to help you achieve this through person-centred appointeeship. Find out more here! https://t.co/Sz4cSI2Q5p
This just one of many examples of the impact our support can have on people with a learning disability achieving more financial independence.

To close off another week, we are delighted to share a fantastic good news story!
Whilst checking the details of a new referral, we found that on her Personal Independence Payment record, they had her down as living in residential care when she wasnโt. (1/3)
So, our team sprang in action to have this corrected. This resulted in the person receiving a ยฃ31,000 back payment!
We are so pleased with this outcome and the lifechanging impact this will have on the person supported. ๐ (2/3)
We believe employee wellbeing can directly improve the mental and physical health of the workforce. As part of our commitment to staff wellness, all employees of Dosh will have peer support from a Wellbeing Buddy! โค๏ธ

Today, we're sharing a good news story from our advocate in Scotland!
They were successful in applying for Adult Disability Payment, the Scottish equivalent of Personal Independence Payment, for someone she supports. This resulted in a backdated payment of ยฃ5000 for them! (1/4)
Before, he only had a budget of ยฃ50 per week, but now he will be able to increase this. This means he will be able to pay off his debts and as there is more income to come, he will also be able to apply for higher rate on Employment Support Allowance. (3/4)
