TikTok has quietly shifted more heavily towards a retention based algorithm while Meta has shifted the other way. When it comes to retention it’s reflected aswell in the changes in the creators rewards program and such where RPMs in some niches have reached over $5 and more through their specialized rewards programs while also removing those who are just posting clip style content
Thank you to @EAMaddenNFL for inviting me out to see what is going to be the best Madden to date.
So awesome to connect with the team and meet so many other amazing creators
Working on TikTok for the last couple of years it’s crazy to see TikTok Gaming go from the Wild Wild West to where it is now! Taking with the gaming team there I’m really excited to see it continue to evolve
@PoisonJL First off love that you are back streaming. Secondly not really true and I would love to run through the content with you if you are getting flagged
I’ve had dozens of creators reach out to me telling me they have been removed from the creator fund on TikTok. Most of the flags have been Unoriginal or Low Quality Content. If your content looks like it was ripped directly from stream, no major cuts, no Facecam, no subtitles, that will trigger this and eventually lead to you being removed… please do not make this mistake
I have had five creators who work with us now tell me they were paying thousands for “social media management” that was more or less just coaching…
If your a new creator please don’t ever fall for for that
Please don’t make this mistake if you’re a Twitch/Kick streamer also streaming over to TikTok Live. Working with a lot of Twitch/Kick creators also streaming on TikTok, I hear all the time that “I don’t get pushed” and while algorithmically I can talk about it all day there is also a content/mentality shift that if done correctly can assist in quick viewership growth.
On sites like Twitch/Kick there is an expectation of content on the viewers end where the viewer has to open up their app to find you, the creator, or go inside of the search bar to look up your name and find you. They are looking for you and therefore understand on a basic level the entertainment in which they are signing up to watch.
On TikTok though, people love the “discoverability” of it but it’s all on an algorithm. There is limited to no viewership expectations on you as a creator. For some creators a drastically high percentage of people that come across your content have never seen you before. That gets worse when the average time it takes a consumer to look at a stream and decide to enter into the stream is 2.9 to 3.8 seconds on average. If you’re not catching peoples attention and they aren’t finding you interesting, they aren’t watching and there goes your push.
So this is the mentality switch, understand that you are always auditioning for new viewership on TikTok. Even if your viewership number is 5, it is never only 5 people. You might have 50 to 100 people coming across your stream at every single minute. And so what are you doing inside of your stream that is going to want to get them to tap in and watch.
@LuckyShotsMIX Ayyy im so glad so many awesome creators were able to show themselves and take advantage of it. I know that the creators I work with loved the opportunity. Keep killing it with the content!
Got the opportunity to put a streamer on an official TikTok account today to stream and showcase marathon and introduce themselves to new viewers. Working on lining up more creators on different games in the future to help boost their brands and viewership 🤞🏻
