Ancient Egypt obsessive, with an interest in the past of the wider world. I have a penchant for the macabre, & weird. I also like art, & (often bad) jokes.
@trumerz@Aakheperure@CogitoErgo15@AmazonUK Being unable to read glyphs, you can understand how they missed @Aakheperure’s signature, but not spotting your name just shows they’re either unobservant, or simple don’t care. My money is on the latter.
When @CogitoErgo15 bought a big pack of ancient Egyptian themed stickers from @AmazonUK, I had a look through them, and discovered stolen art from both @Aakheperure and @trumerz.

Napoleon recognised the importance of the ruins and artefacts found in the Nile valley, so had around 160 scholars, and about 2000 artists accompany him. They would go on to produce the fantastic Description de l'Égypte.
Me: “I’m excited to see the upcoming Napoleon movie.”
Me while watching the new trailer, as it shows the Sphinx and the pyramids being shot at by Napoleon’s forces:
“No! No!!! Nooooo!!!!”
Aside from things like graffiti, it makes very little sense that Napoleonic forces would intentionally damage anything of historical significance for the sake of it, or for ‘target practice’. At least certainly not with the consent of their commanding officers.
So glad this has become part of the permanent exhibit! A 3D printed coffin of Butehamon, with a screen and decoration projected back on the facsimile. Great way to show construction and decoration details!! @MuseoEgizio#Archaeology#Egyptology
Unfortunately I’ve never seen it in person, but this has been a favourite of mine for a while.
There are so many “grower” jokes to be made.

We set off watching “Mummies”.
My wife checked out first.
I made it to the 35 minute mark before it started to feel like self harm, and I had to turn it off.
My son had fun. Not watching the movie, but watching my pained expressions throughout.
