Great presentation from @PeeheeMuhuh and @basin_watch on the harms of and resistance to proposed lithium mines on the lands in so-called Nevada at @SOUAshlandโs Climate Justice Conference today.

Thanks to Senator @RonWyden for reintroducing his Oregon Recreation Enhancement Act, which would support conservation and recreation across 200,000 acres of public lands in the Rogue, Illinois & North Fork Smith River watersheds in southwest Oregon. https://t.co/P5qplZCUD4
@RepBentz Do you have a position on the current 'border' issue within your own state (and your own district)? As a constituent in your district, "secure the border" takes on new meaning with stories like this: https://t.co/PxM9oYbafj
The Bear Grub timber sale in the Applegate Valley of SW Oregon is bad news for local communities & wildlife. The Bureau of Land Management is targeting older forests where Pacific fisher and other wildlife find refuge.
Take action to help us stop this timber sale (again)!
Like a zombie in a bad horror movie, the horrible Bear Grub timber sale is back from the grave! Take action for backyard forests now and learn more about the Bear Grub timber sale in our latest blog: https://t.co/qBYxal682p
@LCRWnews Includes a who's who of Southern Oregon fringe right-wingers and extremists. Personally have familiarity with Mallory during the No Monument campaign of 2016, when he had visions of grandeur for his movement. They haven't subsided. He is such a propagandist.
@aweiss@RonWyden@Fritschner I have been working on the ORE Act for 3 years and never once thought of the missed opportunity for OREO! Hoping for some movement in a lame duck to pass the ORE Act too. :)
@SenatorGolden@ORD2Indivisible@soclimateaction @JC_Democrats Congratulations, Jeff! It was encouraging to see so many volunteer canvassers over the weekend, in the rain, knocking on doors and turning out the vote.
Big win this past week for Northern Spotted Owls and western Oregon's old-growth forests. A huge thank you goes out to coworkers at @kswild and partners at @westernlaw, @OregonWild, and @cascwild for defending public lands and wildlife in SW Oregon!
@wildland_zko Douglas and Big Windy Fires burned a good amount of the Wild Rogue watershed on the north side of the river in 2013. Chris Dunn & OSU studied fire on plantations there. Taylor Creek and Klondike Fires came down to water's edge a few miles upstream at Hog Creek in 2018, I believe.
I had a lot of fun, and laughs, rafting with @RepPeterDeFazio and @cascwild last week on the Rogue River. Feeling grateful to Peter and our partners supporting SW Oregon's rivers, the Wild Rogue bill (HR 7509), and the SW Oregon permanent mineral withdrawal (HR 980).
Highlighting @RepPeterDeFazioโs efforts to pass the Wild Rogue Conservation & Recreation Enhancement Act (H.R. 7509) we, the Congressman & allies @kswild floated a beautiful stretch of Oregonโs Rogue River that will have greater protections once the bill becomes law #WildRivers
@DrKWilkinson Bill has been drawing up hair brained ideas for wild horse restoration in the OR-CA Cascade Siskiyou area for years and shouldn't be considered a friend to the environment.
I have been watching @wildland_zko for a couple years now and have always appreciated his work. This morning's video on the #McKinneyFire was extremely helpful and provides the kind of info our community needs and wants.
Chip in a few bucks and support efforts like The Lookout.
Just posted a virtual tour of the #McKinneyFire to The Lookout YouTube channel. It has mapping of the fire captured about 12:30 am, 7/31/22, and discusses fire behavior and land management history for the burned area. https://t.co/0I87GBHpTO
My thermometer in Ashland at 6:00 pm read 109 degrees...It's been a hot week in southern Oregon and red flag warnings appear on the horizon for the weekend.
Medford has unofficially hit 114ยฐ just a degree shy of the All-time record with some heating left. Daily records have been smashed again. Also, add another day to the 105ยฐ or hotter streak now the second longest streak on record. We are tied second with consecutive days over 110ยฐ
It isn't just the @ForestService cutting old-growth. In western Oregon, @BLMOregon continues to log old-growth on Bureau of Land Management "O&C" forests. The Poor Windy project in So. Oregon will decimate old-growth near Sexton Summit and is on this list. https://t.co/Y4nCpxs3SU
@TedZukoski @SecVilsack@forestservice Just went out to the Poor Windy project in southern Oregon yesterday. It's on the list, and I can attest there are massive old-growth trees that are on the chopping block. #worthmorestanding
