22 yrs ago today, after a long zoning dispute with local officials that ruined his business, welder Marvin Heemeyer had enough & created the Killdozer.
He destroyed the mayor’s house, the judge’s house, town hall, the police station, & the bank - while avoiding hurting civilians or their property.
Happy Killdozer Day to those who celebrate 🎊

“God points out their sin and their pride, then he warns them to turn back to him. And if they obey, they will be successful and happy from then on. But if they foolishly refuse, they will be rewarded with a violent death.”

In 1995, then Carolina Panthers GM Bill Polian made a legendary play action fake.
He had a Ki-Jana Carter jersey at the draft, so the Bengals at No. 5 traded with the Panthers to get No. 1 to take Carter.
Polian was never taking Carter. He got the 5th pick and a second round pick & took who he wanted (Kerry Collins).
This legendary jersey is in the Panthers archive managed by team historian David Monroe.
Texas Head Coach Steve Sarkisian said:
"I watched a coach get fired five games into a season last year after being in the semifinals the year before. That's concerning to me about the health of our sport."
He was talking about James Franklin.
What Sarkisian did not mention is that he and Franklin share the same agent. Jimmy Sexton. The most powerful agent in college football who represents Kirby Smart, Dan Lanning, Lane Kiffin and roughly forty other head coaches.
NFL Draft analyst Todd McShay said on the Bill Simmons podcast that Sexton was actively messing with Penn State because he did not appreciate how Franklin's firing was handled.
So when Sarkisian steps in front of a microphone and expresses public concern about a coach getting fired, a coach his agent also represents, that is not an organic opinion about the health of college football.
That is a man reading from a shared playbook.
Penn State made a business decision. Franklin's agent made a business decision in response. And now Sexton's fellow client is making sure everyone hears about it.
The health of the sport was never the point.
