@dilanesper @kimanisa @452Bullmoose @Sebastian_Hols Exactly. The status quo gives the parents ultimate control. Maybe that’s the real dilemma. When do we take away that control? Who gets to decide? How would we regulate this? Let’s think outside the status quo, not try to shoehorn a process into an already malfunctioning system.

We’re both right. Is it possible that the true issue lies in how we treat trans kids & the legal issues surrounding medical care?

Take a step back and think about it. If your preferred solution will cause more harm than help, it’s no solution at all.

But you are not qualified to tell those with lived experience what you think is best for them when you have only ancillary understanding. Those directly impacted by this disagree with you. Consider why that is.

I will agree that current youth vs adult trans populations had very different experiences but this is not a small percentage of trans kids who are homeless.

Those of us who know (or have been) the casualties in the ditches by the road of good intentions know better. That’s how that road got its name.

@dilanesper @452Bullmoose @Sebastian_Hols MANY trans kids are homeless, at a much higher rate than cisgender LGBT youth. I think the issue here is that you are a very good person who could never do this to your own child, so you can’t comprehend that so many other parents would. But they would. They do. Hence this law.
