@csiegel19 I learned that during my first year of teaching eighth grade way back in 1975. The good news is that once they begin to love and respect you, it lasts forever! Enjoy the journey!
True compassion is not just an emotional response but a firm commitment founded on reason. Therefore, our compassion for others does not change even if they behave negatively. Our sense of responsibility gives rise to a wish to help others actively overcome their problems.
We may sometimes feel that we can't do much as individuals, but humanity is made up of individuals; together we can make a difference. As individuals we can influence our own families. Our families can influence our communities and our communities can influence our nations.
The power of modeling behavior for kids should not be underestimated. Our actions are far louder & more impactful than our words. Be vigilant in how you are presenting yourself as this is the takeaway that stays with kids; not what you say, but what you do. #SEL#kidsdeserveit
