🌟 Our Community Schools have been hosting parent workshops at different Downey Unified schools, giving families the chance to learn, connect, and grow together. Here's a little glimpse of what they've accomplished in just the first two weeks.

Last week, we proudly unveiled Garcia Elementary School! ❤️🖤

The Downey Unified Board of Education voted to rename Imperial Elementary in honor of the incredible leadership and lasting legacy Dr. Garcia has left in our community.

It was a special moment filled with pride, gratitude, and celebration for a leader who has made a difference in the lives of so many students, staff, and families during his 12 years as Superintendent.

Thanks to Measure K improvements, Rio Hondo now has brand-new classrooms and upgraded spaces—creating the perfect environment for students to learn, grow, and succeed. 🏫💙💛

Rio Hondo is one of four schools that began modernization/construction projects this summer, and the work has just begun… even more improvements are on the way thanks to Measure K!

It was truly magical to see the light in our new students' eyes as we welcomed them into the Downey Unified family.
