Having failed to start a war with Iran, Netsnyahu, 4 days before the elections hopes to spark the 3rd Intifada with aggressive collective punishment in Hebron.

He also seems hell-bent on dispelling any doubt that he is indeed a war criminal.

[Chris Doyle @Doylech]

Highly misleading. Israel issues yellow plates for cars registered in Israel and in settlements but they can drive in West Bank too. The Palestinian Authority issues a different coloured plate but Israeli authorities decide where those vehicles can and cannot go, incl on which roads. Bottom line - Israeli soldiers can determine through the plates if the car is Palestinian from the West Bank, outside Jerusalem. Cars with Palestinian plates get held up at checkpoints. Cars with Israeli plates typcially never do.

[Stephen Pollard @stephenpollard]

A straightforward lie.
All plates issued by Israel are the same.
If a plate isn't issued by Israel, it's not an Israeli plate.

UK antisemitism report questioned as 'three in five' student claim and other findings fall apart

[Chris Doyle @Doylech]

What details of this attack have been independently confirmed?

[The Telegraph @Telegraph]

Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered the full closure of the West Bank after suspected Palestinian gunmen were shot dead by Israeli soldiers.

Five Israelis were wounded and two remain in critical condition after a 20-minute shoot-out at the Judea Junction near Hebron⤵️

When the government announced the review, the terms of reference stated:

“It is not a review of the level of antisemitism in schools and colleges.”

Yet the alleged level because the headline - based on a sample of 70 students.

29 said they'd personally experienced antisemitism

[Chris Doyle @Doylech]

We need answers to this. It is a very serious issue.

[Richard Sanders @PulaRJS]

The frustrating thing about the Bell report is that this is a v serious topic.

In the wake of the genocide I've no doubt this is a really difficult time for Jewish kids in schools, through no fault of their own.

A serious, professional study of the difficulties they face and a thoughtful, sensitive analysis of how they might be tackled - without victimising other children who are traumatised by the genocide - would be very useful.

Instead we get this half baked, amateurish, patently partisan hit job that basically extends the antisemitism smear to Britain's children.

It is absolutely shocking that the government has said it will simply adopt it unquestioningly. If implemented it is likely to do enormous damage to how other children view Jewish kids in schools.

Eliora Kolichman is a candidate for the opposition party Yisrael Betenu. Here, she is criticizing Netanyahu and Smotrich for being too soft on Gaza and calling for cutting off electricity and water and leading to a Palestinian state. This is the Israeli opposition. A different flavor of genocide.

[Chris Doyle @Doylech]

Let's be clear. A closure/lockdown of Hebron means a closure for Palestinians. Israeli settlers will just continue their lives as usual.

[Al Jazeera English @AJEnglish]

Israeli PM Netanyahu says he has instructed the military and security forces to ‘immediately impose a closure on the city of Hebron’.

The move follows an early-morning shooting at the city’s northern entrance.

Can you ever imagine a BBC presenter saying "I'm sure many on the Hamas side would dispute the use of the word terrorism"?

They'd be sacked the same minute! Anti-Palestinian racism is so deeply normalized

Escalating attacks by Yemen's Houthi rebels have prompted the US to order some of its diplomatic staff to leave Saudi Arabia.

The latest attack killed two people - a Saudi citizen and an Indian national - at the King Fahd International Airport in the eastern city of Dammam last night.

Eight others were injured.

When planners cannot even learn from 9 months of recent history....

[Gregg Carlstrom @glcarlstrom]

"Some US planners are convinced that an intensive three-day campaign could cause enough economic damage to change the Iranian position."

You would think they'd have stopped making these kinds of predictions eight months into what was supposed to be a four-or-five-week war https://t.co/AVZVGR5KWj

An oped in @arabnews in which I argue Israeli politics has not changed much in recent years despite the wars and crises. Israeli Jews will vote overwhelmingly for right wing parties. If anything, it is the Palestinian parties that form the peace camp https://t.co/222ksm6H7E
