@ctvottawa “Final preparations to start the trial” is the equivalent of “concept of a plan”. The Transpo quote about sharing a start date “as soon as that information is available” is quite amazing. It will be “available” just as soon as they release it. It’s unavailable to us, not them.
@MichaelLeoM@ctvottawa None of these things justifies refusing to provide a timeline. It is their job to manage all of this. They can’t just say that the extension is delayed indefinitely
@cjsarett@jeremydenk Yes! Brimming with humour and inventiveness. I struggle to get my head around it, but maybe I’m just overthinking it. It’s meant to be fun, not meant to compare to the major sonatas etc.
@cjsarett@jeremydenk Absolutely. But I have trouble seeing this piece as minor, at least in the way I use the term. It is large in scale and ambition, written at the height of his powers, clearly meaningful to the composer. Certainly there’s a debate about how successful it is though.
@johnnny2hockey@OttawaCitizen Not sure what municipal services and politics has to do with “libs”. But yes, citizens should be demanding far more from their local governments and should be voting out incumbents who can’t fix these problems
@cheron Very stressful! And they outscored the Yankees by like 15 runs in the series! I think it’s mostly because losing to the Yankees is worse than losing to any other team. High stakes
@globeandmail If the thesis is that communities object to development for mostly aesthetic reasons, wouldn’t developers just propose different looking buildings to avoid all the NIMBY resistance?
@dgardner People making confident, “edgy” assertions about things they don’t understand, and have made no effort to understand, is a reliable source of idiocy on this site.
