People from all walks of life, all races, backgrounds, colors, & ethnicities come together every day in team sports. They become as close as any family & support each other through the good & the bad. As people, we should be able to do the same & work towards betterment for all.
Parents: The best things to do for your kids:
-Discipline when necessary
-Teach not to quit
-Love unconditionally
-Let them experience failure
-Make them face adversity
-Be a solid foundation
-Teach difference in wanting/working
-Make them stand on their own 2 feet
-Support 100%
Now that states are finally allowing sports again, the immediate focus should be on players being back together. Now isn’t when you go 100%. Players have made one new adjustment after another for months. Celebrate getting to be a team again. Everything else takes care of itself.

Getting a little work in today getting ready for Cali. Nice scrimmage win 5-2 over Sting 05 Shepard NPL. Two more weeks until @DP_League#SilverlakesShowcase
Parents: Sometimes the hardest thing to do is just support your child. Regardless of their performance, the most important things a player can hear after a game are “I love being at your games”, “I love you” & “I’m proud of you”. Everything else can wait. There’s a time & place.
Players: Know this secret: extra work will always be OPTIONAL. Whether it’s HS/College/Pro, no one is going to hold your hand to make you get better. You have to want to be great more than others will want it for you. Take responsibility for yourself, your game, your improvement.
