Engagement with the Sweden–India Business Council focused on strengthening Jharkhand–Sweden trade and investment ties, with interest expressed in Jharkhand as an emerging destination for Swedish companies.

Discussions also led to an agreement to hold a dedicated Jharkhand–Sweden roundtable in April, and explored collaboration on urban mobility, including financing solutions and a feasibility study on bicycle and e-bicycle access for school students.

On the sidelines of the World Economic Forum, Chief Minister Hemant Soren interacted with Bloomberg Asia-Pacific MD Sunita Rajan, outlining Jharkhand’s purpose at Davos and its 25-year development vision. Discussions focused on the State’s shift from a mineral-based economy to green industrial development, critical minerals, clean energy, human capital and inclusive growth, alongside the role of global investments, technology transfer and institutional partnerships.
Bloomberg Asia-Pacific also shared plans for a Global Special Roundtable in India later this year, with interest in showcasing Jharkhand’s development journey and opportunities to global leadership.

Day 1 at WEF 2026: A major step in India’s green industrial transition at #WEF2026. Under the leadership of CM Shri @HemantSorenJMM, the Government of Jharkhand and @TataSteelLtd signed an LoI and MoU at Davos for over ₹11,100 crore in New Age Green Steel investments. The partnership will bring advanced low-emission steelmaking technologies from the Netherlands and Germany to Jharkhand, including HIsarna and EASyMelt, strengthening jobs, sustainability, and future-ready manufacturing as the State marks 25 years of its formation.
