Did you know that our Farm & Garden team grew over 5,000 lbs. of sweet potatoes this year? They have now been cured, washed, diced, blanched, frozen and vacuum sealed for roasting, soups, and in any other amazing dishes our staff can think of.

The pandemic put a damper on many things, one, in particular, was our Chef Demo Stations which were a hit among our HS students. Recently, students at EEV got a taste of what's been missing on the menu.
Our chefs featured mouth-watering stir-fries much to their delight.

It's National School Lunch Week! Every year there's a different theme to mark this special occasion. This year's theme is Love, Peace, and School Lunch! It's hip, it's cool, and kind of groovy.

Kudos to OSN's Farm and Garden Team for hosting an awesome Harvest Fest after a 2-year hiatus due to the pandemic. The FREE family-friendly event reached over 700 people on the grounds of Drew Farm with food, fun activities, and resources for all!

Our executive director, Carl Williams, recently joined other national leaders representing school districts, nonprofit orgs, and more to witness a historic event as President Biden laid out his agenda to end hunger and increase healthy eating and physical activity by 2030.

We're delighted to share that our initiative to spark fun & education through healthy cooking w/ our K-8 students, "Cooking with our Kids," is back! After a 2- yr hiatus, our chefs, dietitian, & partners are going back to the classrooms to inspire healthy eating in a unique way.

Breakfast sandwich anyone? Students at East English Village Prep will be able to choose from two varieties during a pilot beginning tomorrow, September 13th. We're excited for everyone to try it soon! @Detroitk12

There's always something awesome happening at Drew Farm. For the second year in a row, our latest harvest has us bursting with excitement! Close to 90 pounds of Concord grapes were picked by our Food Corps team--almost twice as much as last year! @Detroitk12
