💜We Remember. We Honor.
On this day, we pause to remember the 19 members of the Granite Mountain Interagency Hotshot Crew who made the ultimate sacrifice on June 30, 2013 while battling the Yarnell Hill Fire. Their courage, dedication, and brotherhood stand as a powerful reminder of the risks wildland firefighters face to protect our communities and the lands we love.
We will never forget their names, their service, or their legacy.

@TheLawe912@JHudsontraffic The intended targets are not always the victims, see below. To not investigate a shooting on an expressway due to traffic inconvenience is certainly an interesting choice. https://t.co/LiexLaUYu9
@PFTCommenter The City of Chicago municipal code used to mandate that all firearms seized by police be dumped in Lake Michigan. You’re looking in the wrong body of water.
Hot shot firefighters and hand crews are rescuing pet dogs from the evacuated residents of Seven Oaks. They will carry them on a hike about a mile to safety.
Breaking news: 480 Otis is back! 🎉 (You can breathe again.)
480 Otis has returned to Brooks River and he's catching fish at the falls. 🙂🐟
Even at his age, he's still expertly catching fish and continues to surprise us. 👑 🐻

@chicagobars@Suntimes False choice. Layoffs seldom needed -- cutting vacancies does it. Reduced city services needed only if there are no efficiencies to be realized in operations -- come on. Both together get you there w/out a tax increase. Sound public administration would avoid all of it.
Today marks the start of Wildland Firefighter Week of Remembrance.
We remember the 19 Granite Mountain Hotshot firefighters killed in the line of duty 9 years ago in the Yarnell Fire.
Flags at all state buildings fly at half-staff in their memory.

A 6-year-old & his best friend tiger began exploring the mysteries, profundities, and humors of childhood (& tuna sandwiches) exactly 30 years ago today (Nov 18,1985). Watterson's decade of work has captivated fans worldwide & is still every bit as relevant today, 36 years later!
Hollywood Blvd, Saturday, 11:22 AM:
ANTI-VAXX PROTESTER: Do you see all of these homeless people around. Are they dead in the street with COVID? Hell no. Why?
HOMELESS PERSON (walking by): Because I’m vaccinated you dumb fuck.
