Just my two cents. People keep mixing up teachers and the ATA, but they aren’t the same thing. The Alberta Teachers’ Association is a union that represents teachers, but it also acts like a political group. Its leaders often speak out for their own goals, which don’t always match what everyday teachers actually think or want.
Most teachers just want to focus on their students and do a good job in the classroom. But when the ATA speaks, it’s really the union leadership talking, not every teacher. They use strong political messaging because that helps them in negotiations, not necessarily because it improves education.
The government, on the other hand, has to make decisions that work for everyone, students, families, and taxpayers, not just one group. Elected officials answer to all Albertans, while union leaders only answer to their members.
So this really isn’t a fight between teachers and the government. It’s about a union with political goals versus a government that’s trying to balance what’s best for the whole province. Teachers deserve respect, but so do the people paying for the system.
Also when a teacher is hired by a publicly funded school board, they automatically become a member of the ATA. It’s not optional, the law requires it.
Is it possible that this is why the ATA doesn’t like private or charter schools? 🎯
Rename it the DJR system instead of ABS so everyone remembers why we took decision making out of the hands of idiot umpires like DJ Reyburn. #Padres#WildCardSeries#MLBPlayoffs
Yeah I'd be slumping too if every other pitch is being thrown at my head I ran a quick query on baseball savant on all the pitches "up and in" on Tatis Jr. this season and out of the 1912 pitches he's see so far, 116 were balls out of the zone up and in. Pitchers don't care if they hit Tatis Jr. or not. They're going to keep throwing inside with reckless maliciouness because it's working for them smh, per @PADRESRAZAMEMEZ.
The EU will purchase $250 billion/year of U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) for three years, totaling $750 billion. NOW IMGAINE IF THIS WAS CANADA. IT WOULD BE A WHOPPING 10% OF OUR ANNUAL GDP. Think about what Trudeau did when he said there is no business case for LNG. Think about this when the Premiers of BC, Manitoba and Quebec put up road blocks for pipelines.
